Exclusive: Joseph Farah advises Jewish state not to rely on America

JERUSALEM – How far will Barack Obama go to see that Iran is permitted to develop nuclear weapons as part of its announced plan to destroy Israel and the United States?

A recent Wall Street Journal report reveals it would even go so far as to attack Israeli jets targeting Iran’s nuclear sites.

The U.S. began spying on Israel since at least 2012 to prevent Israel from taking out Iran’s nuclear facilities – even sending an additional aircraft carrier to the region after learning that Israeli aircraft had penetrated Iran’s airspace in what Obama feared was a test run for an attack on Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant The attack aircraft on the carrier were reportedly prepared to respond to any Israeli attack – presumably by shooting down Israeli planes.

U.S. officials also told the Journal that Israel was responsible for the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists. Those officials also told the paper that Israel wanted to strike Iran in 2012, and that the United States pressured Israeli officials into retreating.

The U.S. kept its nuclear negotiations with Iran secret from Israel, while spying on Israel’s military bases and eavesdropping on secret communications.

Think about that.

The U.S. was prepared to shoot down Israeli military aircraft that were sent to take out Iran’s nuclear arsenal.

Why was it so desperate to seek a nuclear deal with Iran that even administration officials admitted merely kicked the can of a nuclear-armed Iran down the road? Because it didn’t want Israel to be tempted to attack Iran.

That’s why I say Obama is the most anti-Israel president in U.S. history.

He would rather see a nuclear-armed Iran, preferably after his days in the White House are over, than to see Israel take them out as an act of self-defense.

It’s shocking, indeed.

That’s why you have to take claims by Obama that he considers Israel an ally with a grain of Dead Sea salt.

I’m currently in Israel, and I can tell you the anti-Obama sentiment here is palpable.

Israel is under siege, once again, from a form of asymmetrical warfare. Terrorism is a daily occurrence. Young Muslim men are attacking Israeli civilians constantly, usually with knives, knowing they will be killed. It’s senseless and suicidal, but it takes a toll in blood and stress on the state of Israel.

Yet, Obama and Secretary of State Kerry blame Israel for this carnage. Why? Because, they say, Israel is building homes for Jews in Israel. Unthinkable! And because Israelis want to be able to pray on what they consider the holiest ground in Jerusalem – the Temple Mount. That’s “provocation,” say Obama and Kerry. Of course, Israel should expect terrorism in the face of such instigation, they say.

Thank God Obama’s time in office is running out.

This administration has been a blight on America in many ways – but none greater than the way it has humiliated and demeaned the one and only Jewish state, the one and only free, self-governing society in the Middle East, one it only pretends to call “an ally.”

Every day I grow more convinced that the best thing for Israel is to realize America is not its God. God is its God. Israel has a special place among the nations of the world. It is the only nation in the world singled out for a unique and special covenant with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Israel should remember that.

America has no such promise.

America’s only hope as a nation is to be judged righteous for how it treats “the brethren,” meaning the Jews of Israel.

Under Obama’s leadership, there wouldn’t be much hope at all.
