Christopher F. Rufo is the winner of the 2024 Conservative Book of the Year Award for his work, America’s Cultural Revolution:
How the Radical Left Conquered Everything.
This talented young writer has discovered, belatedly, that communism has come to America through infiltration of our culture and institutions.
However, his revelation about communism in America ignores another part of the problem—the conservative movement of which he is a part.
While posing as an enemy of Cultural Marxism, Rufo celebrates “gay conservative” Dave Rubin’s same-sex “marriage” and two surrogate pregnancies.
Call me old-fashioned, but fathering children through surrogates and raising them without a mother seems to me like a new form of Cultural Marxism.
It was Marx, after all, who called for the abolition of the traditional family.
And it was Harry Hay, a communist, who started the modern gay rights movement in America.
Indeed, the Communist Party (CPUSA) proclaims that it was Harry Hay “who brought communist theory and practice to the fight for gay liberation.”
Our access to his FBI file confirms all of this.
Ignored by Rufo is the fact that the Republican Party has largely surrendered to the Cultural Marxists, as President Trump has abandoned his pro-life stand and his Catholic wife is raising money for a “gay” Republican group, the Log Cabin Republicans, based on the left-wing myth that Republican President Abraham Lincoln was a secret homosexual.
For his part, Rufo’s failure to identify his own role in the cultural collapse may reflect the fact that he works for an organization—the Manhattan Institute—which is funded by Paul Singer, who has been pumping millions of dollars into the campaign to normalize homosexual activity, even “gay marriage,” especially among Republicans.
Singer, whose son is gay, is chairman and Rufo is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
Nine years ago, my group, America's Survival, Inc. (ASI), held a national press conference in the Zenger Room of the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. titled
“Crimes against Nature and the Constitution: Cultural Marxism and America's Moral Collapse.”
Our warnings about the cultural decline of America were ignored by the conservative establishment.
They defunded me for my principled conservative stand.
The speakers at our April 21, 2015, event included Dr. Alan Keyes; Peter LaBarbera, President, Americans for Truth; Matt Barber, constitutional attorney; and James Simpson, the investigative journalist.
Unfortunately, the videos of this great event were censored by YouTube.
However, our detailed report, “Cultural Marxism and America’s Moral Collapse,” exposed what was happening and is still available.
It ties the homosexual movement to the decline of Britain as a world power and describes how America is following the same ruinous path.
At the time, we warned that a major effort was underway to destroy the winning Reagan coalition of social, economic, and foreign policy conservatives.
“Some Republican Party elites are trying to marginalize and isolate traditional conservatives—as well as drive millions of Christians out of the Republican Party,” I said in advance of the event.
This has come to pass, as even some prominent MAGA Republicans have “gone gay” on domestic policy, forging an alliance with the “Log Cabin Republicans” and backing a Republican flip-flop on abortion, going from pro-life to “state’s rights.”
Call me old-fashioned, but I seem to remember that the right to life is established in one of America’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence.
The successful Reagan coalition is being undermined in front of our eyes, as the presumed Republican presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, is forced to defend himself in various kangaroo courts on dubious and politically-motivated charges.
He will never satisfy the forces out to get him.
While the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) hailed Rufo’s book as “an essential guide to navigating and comprehending” the changes in American society,
his endorsement of the “gay conservative” agenda suggests he is leading people astray in even more insidious ways.
The conservative establishment that is represented on the ISI board can pat themselves on the back for belatedly recognizing there is a communist problem in America today.
In my opinion, however, they are black-tie losers who dine on lobster dinners while America burns.
Things could have been different had our warnings been taken seriously.
In 2008, before the election of Barack Hussein Obama as president, we disclosed documentary evidence, including FBI files, demonstrating that Obama had ties with extreme anti-American elements, including agents of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA.
At our 2010 conference on “Marxism in America,” we issued a call-to-action for the Republican-led Congress to bring back the House Internal Security Committee.
But nothing was done.
In fact, when former Republican Rep. Steve King came under media attack for speaking out in favor of saving Western civilization, House Republican “Leader” Kevin McCarthy arranged to have King replaced on various congressional committees and orchestrated his defeat.
King had supported a House Internal Security Committee to uncover communists.
King’s book Walking Through the Fire describes in detail how the GOP leadership, led by McCarthy, forced him out of Congress through lies and collaboration with the New York Times.
Howard Phillips, 1941-2013, chairman of the Conservative Caucus, was a visionary who started a third political party, now known as the Constitution Party, when the Republican Party began drifting away from conservatism.
The Constitution Party is meeting this week and could be on the ballot in 35 states, giving conservatives an alternative to Trump.
My observation from decades of involvement in the conservative movement is that the conservative movement has been terribly compromised by people, some of them well-intentioned, who did not grasp the political reality of what was happening in their own country.
Some are slowly coming to the realization of what is happening, like Rufo, but his Damascus Road conversion to the truth about communism in America comes too late to make a significant difference.
What is worse, as we have seen with their embrace of homosexuality, they are waving the white flag of surrender while claiming to be bracing for victory.
Catholic writer Trent Horn has noted, in regard to Dave Rubin and his partner hiring surrogates to have their children, they have created “a relationship that is explicitly designed so that these children will not be raised by their mother, will not be raised in an environment with their biological mother and father.”
Contrary to Rufo and other “conservatives,” he argues that it is nothing to be celebrated.
Writer Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute says the “purchase” of surrogate babies clearly undermines the family structure and is immoral.
By design, she argues, “sodomitic mimicry of intercourse is non-reproductive.”
She adds, “All efforts to mimic intercourse and to obtain the fruit of such unions—including shopping for eggs as Rubin shared he did—by homosexuals are morally repugnant and selfish.”
Meanwhile, the demonization of Trump is obviously designed to divert attention from the Marxist takeover of the major institutions of government.
And should he win, he is being advised not to seek retribution against the Marxists.
Big mistake.
Trump could rally the America people if he were to declare that he intends to identify, isolate, imprison, and/or deport the Marxists.
Nothing less will suffice.
In this context, in light of current events on the campuses, I recommend our 2016 book, Marxist Madrassas: The Hostile Takeover of Higher Education in America.
The book, published 8 years ago, explained that the anti-Israel campaign emerged from the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and its base on college campuses.
This is the organization which sponsored the BDS (boycotts, divestment, and sanctions) economic warfare campaign against Israel.
“Jewish students tend to be targets in these campaigns and have been threatened and assaulted,” our book warned.
What we warned about has come to pass in a dramatic manner.
Anti-Semitism is on the rise, not only in colleges and universities but globally, largely because of the propaganda campaigns and support from a nuclear-armed Russia and its client state Iran, now on the verge of attaining nuclear weapons.

The hour is late and the Republican majority is slim, but House Speaker Mike Johnson could and should act on our request.

It is not so much that our elite universities have allowed a spirit of vile Jew hatred to take root on their campuses.
Instead, they have cultivated that very spirit, fueling its fires and finetuning its ideologies.
The universities are complicit.
Ben Shapiro confirmed these sentiments, writing:
Open anti-Semitism has been on the rise for legitimately decades on campus. It was rife on campus when I was there 20 years ago. It’s particularly rife from the radical Muslim community, and it’s been fostered by a Left-wing college administration across campuses for two generations that believes in the intersectional hierarchy of victimhood, in which Muslims outrank Jews.
Focusing on what was happening on the Columbia University campus in the heart of New York City, he wrote:
“How did the New York media miss it?
The answer: They didn’t miss it. They fostered it.
For years, the New York Times has refused to cover attacks on Jews in New York City so long as those attacks were being committed by minority criminals.
Intersectionality is a hell of a drug, and this entire world view has promoted anti-Semitism, particularly at elite institutions.”
It is no secret that the Boycott, Divest and Sanction movement has flourished on many of our left-leaning campuses and that pro-Palestinian student groups have had virtually complete freedom to demonize the Jewish state (and Jewish people).
But what many observers have failed to realize is the degree to which the very grid of left-wing intellectualism fosters this Jew-hating spirit.
It is the Marxist dichotomy of the oppressor class (the Jews) and the oppressed class (the Palestinians), of the colonizers (the Jews) and the colonized (the Palestinians).
And with the endless stereotypical antisemitic tropes in which “the Jews” control the media and the banks and the governments of the world, Zionism becomes the ultimate expression of oppressive, colonizing, European white supremacism.
Zionism is the worst! Zionism is the archenemy! Zionism is racism on steroids! And the Zionists are the most megalomaniacal, genocidal, downright evil people on the planet.

These sentiments have been simmering on our campuses for years, ready to surface at any moment.
Israel’s war on Hamas, resulting in great suffering for two million Palestinians, is all that was needed to cause these hate-filled sentiments to erupt with fury and passion.
Think for a moment about some of the scenes at Columbia University in recent days, as the shouting became louder and angrier, directed at the Jewish students on campus.
“Go back to Europe,” and “You have no culture,” and “All you do is colonize.”
Then consider this Oct. 8, 2023, article by Columbia professor Joseph Massad (yes, published one day after the massacre).
He speaks glowingly of the “innovative Palestinian resistance” and its major achievements, referencing the “stunning videos.”
For Mossad, the kibbutzim where the Israelis were slaughtered in cold blood are “settler-colonies,” noting that, “the colonists’ flight from these settlements may prove to be a permanent exodus.
They may have finally realized that living on land stolen from another people will never make them safe.”
With pride, he speaks of “the Palestinian and Arab peoples who came out across the region to march in support of the Palestinians in their battle against their cruel colonizers,” celebrating “the capture of some of Israel’s colonial soldiers and officers in their underwear while sleeping.”
To his dismay, he notes that “the international enemies of the Palestinian people rushed to declare support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism and to condemn the Palestinian resistance.”
He also takes umbrage at the international community’s rebuke of the Palestinians for receiving help from Iran, writing,
“This would be like demanding that the Europeans resisting the Nazi occupation during World War II refuse military and financial help from the white supremacist and apartheid United States, not to mention the racist colonizing regimes of France and Britain.”
And he ends with this telling paragraph:
“But as the ongoing war between the Israeli colonial army and the indigenous Palestinian resistance has only just begun, the days to come will surely be crucial in determining if this is the start of the Palestinian War of Liberation or yet another battle in the interminable struggle between the colonizer and the colonized.”
In all, the words “colonies,” “colonizers” and “colonized” occur 21 times in his op-ed, as he ceaselessly beats his Marxist, Israel-hating drum.
And remember that Massad “is professor of modern Arab politics and intellectual history at Columbia University.”
Is it any wonder that the Columbia protesters shouted,
“All you do is colonize?” Where, pray tell, did they get such ideas?
Not to be outdone, Muhammad Abdou, a visiting professor at Columbia this year, posted a comment on Facebook on Oct. 11, 2023, titled,
“Decolonization, Islam, Palestine & Turtle Island.”
And as if he were competing for a prize for packing in the most possible woke tropes in one sentence, he begins by writing, “Decolonization is an inherently violent, yes, but it’s also a spiritual act in restoring neocolonialism’s disfiguring impact on the native’s racialized, sexualized, gendered, material, historical, symbolic, political, and spiritual relationship to our mother earth, non-humxn [sic] life and land (that are also spiritual subjects not objects).”
All clear?
Thankfully, Columbia’s embattled president Nemat “Minouche” Shafik, when testifying before the House, condemned Massad’s statement, saying she was “appalled” by it, also stating that Abdou “will never work at Columbia again.”
But this is too little, too late, as multiple generations of students have already been indoctrinated by these toxic, destructive and downright dangerous dogmas, providing very fertile soil for the germinating of outright Jew hatred.
The universities are complicit.
They helped create the monster, and now it is out of control.
Nothing less than a comprehensive, top to bottom and bottom to top ideological overhaul will do.

(CHRISTIAN HEADLINES) – The president of the Christian university that launched a revival movement last year says he is optimistic about Generation Z's future and believes young people are hungry for something the world cannot give them.
The revival, or "outpouring," started during a regularly scheduled chapel service at Asbury University in Wilmore, KY., in February 2023 and continued 24 hours a day for the next 16 days.
During a panel discussion this week, Asbury University President Kevin Brown acknowledged that many in Gen Z are "leaving the church and they comprise a significant proportion of the nones" – but that he remains hopeful.
"They're depressed and anxious and have been discipled, so to speak, by social media and phones and all that," he said Tuesday during the panel discussion about the Asbury outpouring at the Evangelical Press Association's convention in Lexington, KY.
"But that doesn't mean they are not hungry for something that's good and right and true and real."
Brown said the student-led outpouring impacted his view about the next generation.
"I actually was in the balcony during a period of time when students were sharing some of their confessions and things they were struggling with.
And I knew it was real because they weren't self-editing what they were saying – even though there were administrators and faculty members in the room."

We were there to seek out Howard Bashford, Columbia's Distinguished Sophistrean Professor of Disinformation, Misinformation and Malformation, emeritus.
We were told his office was near the president's room, and it was … below it in the basement.
After traversing a maze of dusty passages deep within the huge, neoclassical pile, we found the professor.
He was asleep, with his head on his desk.
We cleared our throat loudly, and he sat up, revealing that he had pillowed his pate on a week-old copy of the Sunday New York Times.
After appropriate formalities, we were able to ask Bashford the pressing question:
"As a professor of disinformation, can you tell us why the Palestinian cause is so idolized at American universities?"
His expression brightened considerably.
"It is all about disinformation," he said, "and this disinformation is popular because it is disruptive.
Left-wingers love disruption."
We begged him to explain his reference to "left-wingers," and he continued enthusiastically,
"The American Left likes anything that disrupts American or, more broadly, Western values.
"It likes the trans movement because it disrupts the family, America's bedrock institution.
In fact it likes anything that disrupts any Western institution that is based on Judeo-Christian values.
For example, it values the disruption of public education and the disruption of the English language through the 'pick-your-gender' movement."
"Very well," we said. "But why should universities be so taken with the Palestinian movement?
Doesn't it have a religious – Islamic – component?"
We could see Bashford was struggling to be patient as he answered.
"You asked about its popularity on university campuses," he said. "Where are we now?".
Of course, we noted we were at Columbia.
"And who works at university campuses?" he asked.
"Professors?" we said, tentatively.
"And what are most professors?" he queried.
The light broke upon us, there in the library's dim corridors: "Left-wingers?"
"Ah!" said Bashford. "So they are!
The Left values disruption per se.
This is because naive Leftists believe that after the destruction of Western culture, our nation will evolve naturally to embrace state-centered order — to wit, socialism or communism.
"The idea that Palestinians are downtrodden victims took root in American academia with the first importation of Palestinian foreign students.
They established Palestine liberation clubs throughout the nation and never ceased propagandizing about how history had dealt them injustice.
"They certainly have been agitating on campus since I was an undergraduate – and that is going on 60 years ago.
Initially, they were just quietly militant, but they have been implacable, steadily feeding students and faculty their warped view of history.
"They gradually have convinced intellectually lazy, left-wing faculty members and mentally overburdened students of the line that Palestinians are the underdogs in the conflict with Israel, because of the legacy of Western colonialism."
Adopting an Aristotelian pose, he challenged us: "Faculties bought into their line. … Why?"
We said, "Because it was disruptive?"
"Right!" said Bashford. "And it is next to impossible to find faculty to take up Israel's cause. … Why?"
"Because they're leftists?" we asked. "But you're not a leftist, are you?" we asked.
He replied, "Why do you think I'm in the basement?"
Meanwhile, at Google: The search-engine behemoth had its own pro-Palestinian demonstrations as employees took over offices for anti-Israel protests.
Google fired a couple of dozen of the participants.
An outfit called No Tech For Apartheid called the dismissals a "flagrant act of retaliation" that was "a clear indication that Google values its $1.2 billion contract with the genocidal Israeli government and military more than its own workers. …"
Well, yeah.

The attorney general in California is being accused of launching a new intimidation campaign against pro-life centers.
It's through subpoenas he's issued demanding specific information about how those centers offer ultrasound exams to women.
The American Center for Law and Justice, which already is representing one of the centers subpoenaed, explained what is developing.
It noted the "coordinated efforts across the country by the abortion industry and its political allies to target pro-life Pregnancy Resource Centers."
Now, it said, California AG Rob Bonta has advanced that campaign by issuing individual subpoenas to at least 10 PRCs in the state.
He is demanding details of their compliance with a new pro-abortion law that the state adopted only last year.
"The law is an attempt to limit how ultrasounds can be performed, especially by pro-life centers," the legal team explained, "The pro-abortion bureaucrats who wrote the rule know full well that an ultrasound – actually getting to see the baby on the monitor – is the most effective way anyone can be convinced to allow an unborn child to live."
The new rule imposed by the abortion advocates in the state demands that ultrasounds "only be performed in licensed clinics, outpatient settings, and licensed health facilities by a physician, a surgeon, a medical group practice, a chiropractic practice, a physical therapist practice, or a facility affiliated with those settings."
The penalty starts out at $2,500 and rises to $5,000, plus costs, fees and additional civil punishment.
The centers routinely follow the specifics of law, as they want to guard their ability to provide ultrasounds.
"However, it is clear that Attorney General Bonta is on a fishing and intimidation expedition by issuing these subpoenas to the California PRCs," the ACLJ explained..
"We already know what he thinks about pro-life PRCs since he was the lead attorney general on an open letter condemning them and accusing them of 'us[ing] deceptive and unethical methods to lure pregnant [women] who are seeking comprehensive reproductive healthcare—including abortion—into their centers.
And when those people visit, [PRCs] often provide inaccurate and deceptive information about reproductive health.'"
The report suggested Bonta now has become a leader in the "dangerous smear campaign" that is targeting pro-life centers across the country.
The ACLJ said it is representing one of the centers, and is working with others to deliver to Bonta a "strong and unified response" that makes him "aware that these centers are represented by legal counsel who stand ready to defend the centers the moment he steps beyond the bounds of the law."
