The Most Disturbing Documentary I've Seen in 50 Years of Ministry

The Public Broadcasting System, supported by our tax dollars, shows documentaries that sometimes are very good and sometimes very bad. The Frontline special, "Growing Up Trans" initially reached millions when it was broadcast nationwide. Now it has been viewed by nearly three-quarters of a million times on the internet.

Bottom line: it's propaganda pushing transgenderism under the guise of education. In my entire five decades of vocational ministry I've never seen something so reprehensible.

Currently we're in the midst of an explosive movement and national debate on transgenderism. Even though the American College of Pediatricians has gone on record labeling this ideology "child abuse," some woke politicians and "enlightened" medical personnel promise success if we follow their advice. Their promise of better families and a more holistic society by yielding to their wisdom is seductive and pernicious. Why? Because it runs counter to God's design for the family.

Joe Biden recently said, "Our entire administration sees you transgenders for who are, 'made in the image of God' and deserving dignity, respect and support." He conveniently omits the rest of the Bible verse, which states, "male and female, He created them" (Gen. 1:27).

We've arrived at a place of moral insanity where our culture is unraveling because we've abandoned God's absolute truth. Simply read Romans 1:18–31 to see the downward spiral of people who "suppress the truth ... become futile in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise they became fools ... dishonor their own bodies ... God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper."

This is an accurate description of our rapidly declining society. Demanding open access to bathrooms and showers, 0.06% of the population is supposedly "transgender" now and demand their "rights" as 99.94% of us ask, "What about our sons' and daughters' privacy and safety rights?"

Because some politicians, parents and medical personnel are no longer upholding time-honored biblical standards, we're finding multitudes of moms and dads emotionally manipulated by children who are struggling with their identity and wanting to experiment with what is currently "cool." And in the name of "non-discrimination" and "inclusion," politicians, pop culture celebrities and "woke" corporations like Disney and Crayola are steering us down a path to destruction.

3 Biblically Informed Insights on Deceptive PBS Documentary

1. In the past there was a minuscule minority of confused adults who explored "transitioning" their gender but today we are catering to and celebrating children pondering this possibility.

Conceding there is a miniscule percentage of people with chromosomal disorders, let's keep in mind that children have wild imaginations, are immature and extremely impressionable.

When a young girl who is uncomfortable with her body stares at computer images of handsome young guys with flawless bodies and fantasizes about having that type of body image, should it surprise us that her imagination takes her down the path of changing into a boy?

Commenting upon her computer experiences, a confused young girl in the program said, "To me they're real. ... It's a telepathic thing ... It's in my head ... I can then walk down the street in this guy world..."

Parents who foolishly allow their children to watch videos unsupervised on YouTube and TikTok internet sites that encourage transgender lifestyles for children need to wake up! Young "Trans" instructors encouraging onlookers on the "how to's" of hormone injections, voice alteration and breast removal are dangerous manipulative propagandists.

Parents have a responsibility to monitor their children's input. A gullible child needs parental supervision and guidance not unrestricted access to computer images and unbiblical concepts. Children in the documentary should have been instructed in no uncertain terms: This is not normal, natural or worthy of exploring.

2. When a 9-year-old boy thinks he'd be happier as a girl and wants to dress up and take on a permanent female identity, parents can't be passive or "supportive." They need to be involved in shaping and steering their child aligned with their biological makeup. Scripture instructs us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Prov. 22:6).

In the program a little boy demanded that his parents and his grandparent call him a different Disney girl character every day to help him transition to being a girl. Bowing down to his royal majesty, every day of the week the adults in his life reinforced his distorted thinking by obeying his command by calling him "Snow White, Tinkerbelle, Cinderella, Ariel." The mom also succumbed to letting the little boy dress regularly as a girl. Does it surprise you what transpired?

It is tragic to witness misinformed and misled parents reneging on their God-given role. It's also sad to hear such fatalistic remarks when we serve a living God who transforms lives and can rescue us from deception and destruction.

3. Since the overwhelming majority of children in gender confusion (gender dysphoria) do not continue in this wayward path, parents must stand strong against politicians and some medical authorities pushing treatments to solve the problem.

Subjecting boys to chemical castration and girls to hormones blocking periods and puberty is extremely dangerous and mostly irreversible. In Deut. 23:1 God prohibits "gender bending" and "genital removal."

Observing a 13-year-old girl filling out consent forms to release medical personnel from lawsuits involving potential cancer, fertility problems, ovarian cancer, hair loss, mood change, depression, stroke, suicide and other serious ailments broke my heart. What happens when the child comes to his or her senses and wants to reverse course later in life?

"Rates of suicide among adults who use cross–sex hormones and undergo sex change reassignment surgery are 'twenty times greater' than the rest of the population even in such trans-friendly places as Sweden."

One teenage girl transitioning to a boy acknowledged being "violent" and "punching a hole in the wall" and even "throwing a cup at her father" when he refused to give in to her demands. Mom yielded, but thank God in this case, the dad who appeared to be a spiritual man, would not acquiesce.

The program ended with an example of a transgender support group. Twenty young people sat affirming each other, laughing about their gender reassignment surgery and "new parts." I paused the program at this point and had to stop and pray because I couldn't go on with the pernicious propaganda.

Jesus Christ soberly warned us about mistreatment of children in Matthew 18:6. He stated, "But whoever misleads one of these little ones who believe in Me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung about his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea." While I pray for Biden every day, I, like you, should be grieved by his obsession with the LGBTQ agenda, especially transgenderism. His appointment of the biological male who tells us he's now a woman (Rachel Levine) to be his highly visible Assistant Secretary for Health shows where his heart is on promoting the issue.

In a recent letter, Dr. James Dobson communicated with America his alarm at what the Biden administration is doing to destroy the fabric of America. He said, "The worst offender seeking to pervert and harm our kids is not a corporation or a school board. It's our current president and his administration...Biden and his administrative agencies are determined to push America totally off its moral ledge as they take full aim at dismantling the mental, physical and spiritual welfare of our children."

Yes, God help us at this crossroad of our nation's history.

Under normal circumstances, this would never happen. Normally, you would never have raging inflation and a housing crash at the same time. But thanks to the Federal Reserve, that is precisely what we are now facing. The Fed has created a colossal inflation monster that is going to be exceedingly difficult to tame, and meanwhile the most epic housing bubble in the history of our country is starting to burst. This combination is going to cause immense pain for U.S. consumers in the months ahead, and there is no short-term hope on the horizon.

If you have been to the grocery store lately, you have probably noticed that prices are a lot different than they were just a few short months ago.

Unfortunately, some of our largest corporations are telling us that they are going to continue to pass cost increases along to consumers:

Consumers looking for relief from higher prices might have to wait a while.

The makers of Coca-Cola beverages, Dove shampoo, Huggies diapers and Big Macs have been raising prices as their costs increase on everything from wood pulp to wages. The executives behind these global brands on Tuesday said they would keep passing along those costs to shoppers, for now. Consumers are continuing to buy even as inflation takes a toll on households, these executives said.

In a desperate attempt to get the inflation spiral that they created under control, officials at the Federal Reserve keep raising interest rates.

In fact, on Wednesday we witnessed another historic interest rate increase:

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday enacted its second consecutive 0.75 percentage point interest rate increase as it seeks to tamp down runaway inflation without creating a recession.

In taking the benchmark overnight borrowing rate up to a range of 2.25%-2.5%, the moves in June and July represent the most stringent consecutive action since the Fed began using the overnight funds rate as the principal tool of monetary policy in the early 1990s.

Fed officials seem to think that they can tame inflation just as Paul Volcker and his minions did in the early 1980s.

But the truth is that the environment is completely different this time around.

In the early 1980s, the money supply was relatively stable.

Today, we are coming off two years in which our leaders behaved very foolishly. Our politicians borrowed and spent trillions of dollars that we did not have, and the Federal Reserve pumped trillions of fresh dollars that they created out of thin air into the financial system.

No matter how high the Fed pushes interest rates, it isn't going to make all of that new money magically disappear.

In addition, we are dealing with some very serious long-term supply issues that would have been unimaginable in the early 1980s. I expect that those supply issues will intensify over time, and this will especially be true if more military conflicts erupt around the globe.

If officials at the Fed think that they can solve our inflation crisis by just crushing demand, they are simply being delusional.

But raising interest rates will certainly do one thing. It will absolutely eviscerate the housing market, and that is already starting to happen.

On Wednesday, we learned that pending home sales in the U.S. were 20% lower this June than they were last June:

Signed contracts to purchase existing homes dropped 20% in June compared with the same month a year ago, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.

That is the slowest pace since September 2011, with the exception of the first two months of the coronavirus pandemic lockdowns, when sales plunged briefly and then rebounded sharply.

On a monthly basis, pending home sales fell a wider-than-expected 8.6% in June. A Dow Jones survey of economists had predicted a 1% drop.

Those numbers are absolutely horrible, and they were much worse than expected. And everyone agrees that this is happening because the Federal Reserve is raising interest rates.

At this point, things are particularly bad in "Zoomtowns" such as Boise, Idaho:

During the pandemic-fueled housing boom, Boise emerged as one of America's hottest "Zoomtowns," communities that experienced a spike in population from an influx of remote workers.

Now, the housing boom around Idaho's capital city has ground to a halt. Buyers are balking at record prices and mortgage rates that last month hit a 13-year high. Sixty-one percent of listings in the Boise metro area had a price cut in June, the highest rate out of 97 metro areas surveyed, according to brokerage Redfin Corp. Home builders who couldn't keep up with demand last year are cutting back on construction.

If you are trying to sell a house right now, I feel terrible for you. As mortgage rates go even higher, even more potential buyers will be pushed out of the marketplace.

Meanwhile, we are starting to see an alarming surge in foreclosures as the overall economy slows down. Just check out these very alarming figures: "Looking specifically at foreclosure starts, this metric was up 26.6% in June on a monthly basis, but up 440.91% year-over-year. Starts also represented the highest share (4%) of serious delinquencies since March 2020, but less than half the rate in the years leading up to the pandemic."

Four hundred forty percent on a year-over-year basis? Are you kidding me?

We haven't seen anything like this since 2008. And we all remember what happened in 2008.

A new housing crash is here, and the Federal Reserve is making things even worse by dramatically hiking interest rates.

What in the world are they thinking? You don't raise interest rates when a recession has already begun. That is completely and utterly insane.

But that is precisely what they are doing.

I am concerned that economic conditions in America could soon very closely resemble my first novel. Economic activity is slowing down everywhere that you look, layoffs are on the rise and the housing market is collapsing. Meanwhile, prices for essentials such as food and energy continue to keep rising.

The people who are going to get hurt the most by all of this are those at the bottom of the economic food chain.

A very dark chapter in American history has begun, and the months ahead are going to be filled with pain.

DEMS SEEK TO PERVERT AND CORRUPT MARRIAGE

 

I have some important breaking news to share below, but first, the U.S. Senate is poised to vote on HR 8404, the oxymoronically named “Respect for Marriage Act” that serves to undermine marriage, religious freedom and states’ rights. This matter is urgent.  If passed, this bill will impose any radical (and wrong) definition of marriage on every state if just one state or territory recognizes it.  While erasing states’ rights, the bill also forces all states to accept even polyamory, polygamy, child bride “marriages” and any other perverted corruption of marriage you can imagine. This bill will not just repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).  It will also codify the Supreme Court’s 2015 unconstitutional 5-4 opinion regarding same-sex marriage (SSM) in Obergefell v. Hodges.  But this bill goes much further. Already, five Republican senators have expressed support for HR 8404.  About 15 more Republicans are undecided or considering voting in favor.  If just five more Republicans cave, HR 8404 will pass. The Senate Republican leadership does not appear to be whipping votes against this bill.  It is up to you to contact senators and let them know that we strongly oppose HR 8404, a bill that will deconstruct marriage, assault religious freedom and override states’ rights. Rush your urgent faxes to the Senate to block this attack on our nation, on our freedom and on marriage. — Mat

Justice Clarence Thomas is right. 

The Supreme Court’s same-sex marriage opinion is on the same shaky legal ground as abortion was—as a made-up “right” pulled out of thin air. Those pushing the LGBTQ agenda are in a tailspin about this fact.

Misnamed the Respect for Marriage Act, this bill undermines marriage in several ways:

First, when Obergefell is overruled, HR 8404 will continue same-sex marriage.

Second, HR 8404 goes far beyond same-sex marriage because it empowers one state to set national marriage policy—including incestuous marriage (father-daughter or mother-son) and more.

Third, while it currently applies to “a marriage between 2 individuals,” the bill would open the door to polygamy and polyamory by simply striking “2” before or after the bill is passed.

Note, the bill does not say that marriage is only for two individuals, but that the bill requires a state to recognize “a marriage between 2 individuals.” The deconstruction of marriage is the stated goal of some LGBTQ advocates.

The bill could allow one person to enter more than one marriage between two people all at the same time, thus authorizing polygamy. Every House Republican member from Utah supported this bill.

That is one of the many perversions of marriage allowed by this bill. It has no limits on the age of the individuals, no limits on family relationships and no requirements of the marital status of someone who wants to marry.

The Senate is very close to passing HR 8404. The senators must hear from you. STOP HR 8404 with your urgent faxes to the Senate.

When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges, some Justices warned that the decision could have a damaging and serious impact on people of faith. 

Chief Justice John Roberts took the unusual step of reading his dissent from the bench. 

He referred to the five Justices as “lawyers” who imposed “an act of will, not legal judgment.” 

He also said, “Just who do they think we are?”

I have been on the front lines of defending people of faith and the warning in Obergefell has come true. 

The Kentucky clerk, Kim Davis, was the first person to face persecution and even jail.

Business owners are being bankrupted and shut down if they do not accept and promote same-sex marriage. 

Even schools are worried about their accreditation status, and organizations are worried about their tax-exempt status if they do not comply.

Justice Clarence Thomas wrote in a later opinion that “Since Obergefell, parties have continually attempted to label people of good will as bigots merely for refusing to alter their religious beliefs in the wake of prevailing orthodoxy.” 

Regarding Kim Davis he wrote, “those with sincerely held religious beliefs will find it increasingly difficult to participate in society without running afoul of Obergefell.”

Thus far, this level of persecution is happening under a Court ruling, but under a federal law, the ability to target and attack people of faith will increase!

Cereal is 15 percent more expensive than it was a year ago. The price of chicken has risen by 17.4 percent, the largest increase ever recorded. The price of eggs has increased by 33 percent. Pork prices increased 13.3 percent; bacon, 15 percent; milk, 15.9 percent; coffee, 15.3 percent; and fruits and vegetables, 8.2 percent. Food away from home, at restaurants, increased by 7.4 percent.

The Path to Eternal Life …

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay. (Psalm 49:7-9)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through me. (John 14:6)

In the way of righteousness (being right with God) there is life; along that path is immortality. (Proverbs 12:28)

So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. (Galatians 3:6-7)

Therefore, since we have been justified (made right with God) through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 5:1)

Therefore, there is now no condemnation (punishment) for those who are in Christ Jesus, (Romans 8:1)

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (1 John 5:11)

… keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. (Jude 1:21)
