EVEN DEMS ABANDON OBAMA'S 'ISIS-IS-LOSING' CLAIM
And preparedness expert warns president's position 'crystal clear'
Critics, including prominent Democrats, have been slamming Barack Obama’s appearance at the G20 meeting in Turkey for his refusal to concede he had underestimated the Islamic State, or ISIS.
He stated his administration’s current strategy “is ultimately going to work.”
In fact, he said the group is weakening, because it controls less territory now than before.
Fielding questions about the Islamic terror attack on Paris over the weekend, he ruled out sending large-scale ground troops, and said, “ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, an alternate name for the Islamic State) is the face of evil.”
He said his administration’s goal is “to degrade and ultimately destroy this barbaric terrorist organization.”
But Obama appeared frustrated by questions from the press about why the United States has been thus far unable to do that.
He reaffirmed his statement from last week that the Islamic State is contained because “they control less territory than they did last year.”
Over time, Obama claimed, the Islamic State’s loss of territory will “lessen the numbers of terrorists who can potentially carry out terrible acts like they did in Paris.”
But Obama’s claim of ISIS containment has been widely mocked, even by some in his own party. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., openly disagreed Monday with the president on the subject of whether the Islamic State was contained.
Obama also showed his anger when speaking about Americans who question the wisdom of admitting thousands of Muslim migrants into the United States.
“When I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who is fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful, that’s not American,” the president lectured.
President Obama also denied any connection between the Islamic State and the religion of Islam.
“ISIL does not represent, it is not representative in any way of the attitudes of the overwhelmingly majority of Muslims,” he said.
Pastor Carl Gallups of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church called the speech “agonizing” to listen to.
Also, enlightening for Christians.
“His Islamic-centric ideology was made crystal clear for anyone who might have possessed previous doubts about where he really stands on the matter,” Gallups told WND. The author of “Be Thou Prepared: Equipping the Church for Persecution and Times of Trouble” said he expected Obama to take such a stance following the attacks in Paris.
“His positions of appeasement and weakness, especially when it comes to dealing with radical Islam, are no surprise to those of us who have been documenting and speaking about his core beliefs since the days he was first running for president,” Gallups charged.
Gallups had company in delivering scathing a critique of Obama’s speech.
Described as “seething” by Mediaite, Bill Hemmer of Fox News appeared disgusted as he recounted Obama’s press conference, noting, “President Obama called the attacks in Paris a ‘setback’ at one point.”
Hemmer told Fox’s Bret Baier: “If you’re at home wondering with your own set of anger and your own set of fears about what can happen next, you are not alone, because that is precisely what you feel here in Paris, France. And if you were awaiting clarification on your feelings through that Q-and-A, you weren’t going to get it.”
“Fox News’ assessment at the end of the speech was filled with despair,” observed Gallups. He told WND he found it incredible how cynical Obama’s speech was and he believes the president deliberately tried to obfuscate the connection between modern terrorism and the beliefs of Islam.
Responding to Obama’s charge that critics of Muslim immigration are equating refugees with increased terrorism, Gallups pled guilty.
“Media headlines, the Islamic terror experts and the people who actually speak the truth about what happened in France are saying the same thing,” Gallups told WND. “There are terrorists pretending to be refugees, and they are entering the West among the migrants. This is exactly what the Islamic State publicly announced they would attempt.”
Obama also said most of the Islamic State’s victims were Muslims and, therefore, “this is not a ‘Muslim’ problem.”
“This is a terrorist problem,” Obama said. “It is true that the most vicious terrorist groups claim to be speaking for Muslims. We have to figure out how to keep Muslim children from being ‘infected’ with these extremist thoughts and rationales.”
To that, Gallups had a blunt response.
“This is a Muslim ideological terrorist problem – plain and simple,” he said. “For Obama to even suggest otherwise is the height of denial – or worse. It seems that almost everyone else in the world gets this, except Obama and his handpicked pundits. Muslim children are being ‘infected’ in Muslim mosques, on Islamic websites, and by direct Islamic Jihad recruiting techniques.
“The rest of the world has already figured this out. The question is, ‘What is the U.S. going to do about it?’ Obama apparently answered that for us today – ‘nothing.’”
Gallups also explained Obama’s claim ISIS is recruiting in the West doesn’t weaken the case against refusing Muslim migrants. Indeed, Gallups argued, it strengthens it.
“Yes, some ISIS fighters are coming from the West,” said Gallups. “But they are being recruited, trained and brainwashed in a number of Western mosques. And many of them are coming into Western nations because of politically correct immigration policies and the lack of lawful border enforcement. To somehow intimate that this is a Western problem and not an Islamic problem was absolutely over the top – even for Obama.”
Gallups warned Christians to be prepared for increased Islamic terrorism, as Western governments seem unable or unwilling to protect their own populations.
“I believe that what we have seen in Paris will, more than likely, be increased many times over in the months and years ahead, and in various locations around the world,” he said. “There is a good possibility these kinds of attacks will soon come to the United States – especially if we continue with the current policies of political correctness.”
The Islamic State has already vowed to launch strikes against the American capital. Gallups said America should take the terrorist group at its word and not underestimate its capabilities.
“I fully understand that the vast majority of the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide claim to not be in alignment with ISIS’ policies of murder and mayhem,” he said. “However, millions upon millions of Muslims do align themselves with ISIS.”
Gallups urged Christians to be prepared. The pastor believes the geopolitical condition of the world and the threat of terrorism isn’t just a temporal concern, but one “deeply rooted in the spiritual realm spoken of in biblical prophecy.”
“There is no doubt among those who study the Word of God that the last days will be marked by a coalition of largely Islamic nations,” Gallups explained. “These nations will wreak havoc in the Middle East and set their aim upon the destruction of Israel. There can be no argument against the fact that the Bible clearly speaks of a stronghold of demonic and military last days’ power situated along the Euphrates River, the current heartland of the Islamic State. That power will be behind the world war scenario that will ultimately ensue.”
Gallups believes events are developing as he outlined in one of his recent books, “Final Warning: Understanding the Trumpet Days of Revelation.”
“I, and millions of other Bible students, believe we may be watching that scenario building right before our eyes,” the pastor stated. “Obama seems to be playing into the entire biblical unfolding of a Middle East worse case scenario. And never forget, even geopolitical experts have tied today’s current ISIS catastrophe to the Arab Spring movement in 2011 – the movement for which Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton proudly took the credit.”
Gallups also warns Christians Muslim extremists could soon find their way into American neighborhoods – thanks to Obama’s refugee policy.
“One of the major topics of my very latest book ‘Be Thou Prepared’ speaks to the Islamic influx into the United States and the potential coming wave of persecution and attacks upon Christians within our hard-won homeland,” Gallups said. “The Lord has been warning many of us of the tough days ahead. He has been showing us the prophetic times in which we are living.
“Shame on America’s pastors who refuse to even address these matters from their pulpit!” Gallups exclaimed. “The church is simply not well equipped for what may be soon coming our way. Today, Obama only poured more fuel on the growing fire.”
