Knowing the Ministry giftings or offices of Ephesians 4:11 helps you understand the structure of Church leadership but also reveals the Heart of God in the assembly of the different parts of His character and nature in His people.
Knowing how each of these gifts function practically with maturity comes with learning the Word of God plus a lifetime of lived experiences that you have to walk through with God who teaches you His Word, Character and Nature through His Holy Spirit, thats why the second part of this relates to understanding and the first part knowledge.
The trickiest part is knowing when and how we use those gifts to reveal Christ among His people instead of using whatever God gave you to reveal yourself, to exalt you, or lift you up. But rather He has gifted His Church so that He would be revealed among us (that was the intent).
True Ministry isnt a bunch of Church goers giving their life, money, energy, and effort so that a few "anointed" people can have whatever they want and live like Celebrities on Earth (read the Apostle Paul explaining the Ministry of Apostle in 1 Corinthians 4).
True Ministry is giving your life away so that God gets what He wants out of your life, and even more He wants us to humble ourselves considering each one as higher than yourself, forgiving immediately, reconciling quickly, and with real Spiritual power(v18 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5).....and so many other things that most of us struggle with.....Thats because this kind of wisdom comes with real tried and proven character and this kind of character isn't cheap (but it is free).
There are coming two major events prophesied in the Bible that will change this Nation, before that time comes God will allow many things to happen to this Nation so that she will turn and repent so that eventual judgement would not be necessary...If we turn as a Nation.
Its not just prophecy but it is a pattern that has been going on for thousands of years to every Nation that has identified itself as "One Nation under God" Many of the prophets will be crying out Isaiah 6: 8-13 the Church now being the holy seed just as Christ was in Israel...the pattern of the Bride and Bridegroom (Rev 7:14 reveals that the white garments that the Bride wears are washed in the very Blood of the Lamb which was given to obtain the Church and to make a way for Gods people....thats why 12:11, and 20:4)
Right now many Church leaders or those who are called to serve the Church are going through a testing that feels like every part of you is being tested all at once.... This is because God is maturing the true Leaders worldwide(He will deal with His Church before raising it up before the Nations in the last days) but especially in the U.S. right now, in fact Romans 5: 3-3 is clear that the actual Christian life is about being shaped in the image of Christ and that one of the many end results is proven character Hebrews chapter 12 backs it up to the point that Hebrews says that if you have not become a partaker in discipline of the Lord you are actually an illegitimate child! God wants His character and nature in His people and in His Church.... So here comes the season of growth for many, to be able to represent Him to the World while the World is in chaos.
