Jindal: 'President Obama lied to the Pope'
(Washington Examiner) Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal says President Obama deliberately deceived Pope Francis Wednesday during an extravagant ceremony at the White House meant to welcome His Holiness to the U.S.
The Republican presidential hopeful and devout Catholic posted a petition to his campaign website Wednesday afternoon, urging his supporters to demand that President Obama "live up to his words, and protect the religious freedom rights of ALL Americans."
Jindal, who comes in tenth in the latest Washington Examiner presidential power rankings, was referring to a remark made by Obama to the Pope Wednesday that left a handful of conservatives outraged.
"We stand with you in defense of religious freedom," Obama told the leader of the Catholic Church. "You remind us that people are only truly free when they can practice their faith freely."However, the Louisiana governor says that couldn't be further from the truth.
"The President told the Pope that, in America, people must be free to live out their faith without fear of intimidation. That's the opposite of reality in America today, Mr. President," Jindal said in a statement.
"We have Christians who are jailed for their closely-held religious beliefs. We have Christians fined thousands of dollars by the government simply because they didn't bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple," he added.
Jindal has been a steadfast critic of the Obama administration's allegedly restrictive policies toward religious freedom. Months before declaring his candidacy, Jindal told Iowans, "sometimes it feels like evangelical Christians are the only group that it's OK to discriminate against in this society.
"Here's a reality check: Christians are Americans too, with the same rights as everyone else," Jindal said Wednesday. "This president has not protected Christians and their constitutionally guaranteed religious freedom, and it's time we have a president who will."
Despite his support among Religious Right activists, Jindal continues to poll at less than 1 percent in national polls. He currently earns a mere 0.3 percent support among Republican voters, according to the latest RealClearPolitics polling average.
The two-term governor is scheduled to speak the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. Friday hosted by a conservative Christian organization called the Family Research Council.

My comments: Obama is a Compulsive LIAR. But the Pope knows this by Obama's treatment of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
