Biden threatens 'executive orders' if Roe is overturned
'We're looking into that right now'
In an effort to slow the catastrophe plunge he's seen in his approval rating from American voters – now under 40% -- Joe Biden took to the television stage on comedian Jimmy Kimmel's show this week.
And he threatened to use "executive orders" to reverse a Supreme Court opinion that could overturn Roe v. Wade.
That decision, in a Mississippi abortion dispute, appears likely, as a draft opinion from a majority of the court was leaked several weeks ago indicating at least five justices were ready to toss Roe and give regulation of America's lucrative abortion industry back to the states.
On that topic, Biden called the idea of canceling Roe, which long has been recognized as being based on the "penumbras" and "emanations" of the Constitution, not the Constitution itself, is "just ridiculous."

He warned of a possible uprising. In fact, violence already has been threatened by pro-abortion organizations to the point that special provisions already are being developed to protect the justices if they do finalize that draft opinion.
Just on Wednesday, a man was arrested and charged in his alleged scheme to assassinate Justice Brent Kavanaugh.
Biden told Kimmel, "I don't think the country will stand for it, and I think what we're going to have to do, there's some executive orders I could employ, we believe. We're looking into that right now."
He said a court ruling against Roe, whose author, Harry Blackmun, even admitted it was suspect when it was written in 1973, would cause a "mini revolution."
And he said it would be necessary for Congress to "legislate it."
"We have to make sure we pass legislation making it a law that is, 'The federal government says this is how it works,'" he said.
Of course, abortion legislation has failed repeatedly in Congress, and election watchers are forecasting that the Democrats, who hold the majority in both the Senate and House right now, could be in the minority follow November's election.
That also was targeted by Biden. He said, "If they overrule Roe v. Wade, and the state of California won't do it, but other states say, 'You cannot do the following, and it's a law you can't cross the border' – all the things that some states have – then you got to make sure you vote. You got to vote and let people know what the devil you think."
The Hollywood Reporter also pointed out that Biden discussed issuing executive orders to limit Americans' Second Amendment rights.
Biden claimed, on guns, "I have issued executive orders within the power of the presidency to be able to deal with everything having to do with guns, gun ownership … all the things that are within my power."
He said he didn't want to "abuse" the Constitution, claiming that President Trump did that, without giving an example.
It was Biden's first interview with the media in months.
He also criticized reporters, but confused web traffic and television ratings.
He said, "Even the really good reporters, they have to get a number of clicks on the nightly news, so instead of asking questions … everything gets sensationalized."
On abortion, Biden has pushed for the violent, death-inducing procedures more than any other president. He's worked to have taxpayers fund abortion, and has tried to eliminate all the conscience protections that exist across the U.S.
His Department of Justice abruptly dropped an already-won case against a hospital system that forced a nurse to participate in abortion in violation of her religious faith.
His agenda is supported by a Democrat Party movement that even has included abortion after birth, as new laws in the Democrat strongholds of Colorado and California have allowed just that.
