Three Important A’s
Karen Pourbabaee
“Shall we indeed accept good things from God and not accept adversity?” Job 2:10 NAS
Adversity is a given; God’s permissive will allows it for our good.
Adversity affords us the opportunity to strengthen our spiritual muscles and grow up unto the stature of Christ.
Adversity is our personalized battle training!
The enemy’s goal is to destroy our hope in adversity, but Paul encourages us to,
“Fight the good fight of faith,” in 1 Timothy 6:12—that is our calling!
However, there are three important aspects to successful battle; three important A’s:
Alertness: “Be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)
Don’t sleep through your days—stay awake!
Ask the Holy Spirit to be your spiritual siren, alerting you to the schemes and tactics of the evil one.
Armor: “Put on the full armor of God that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)
Be wise; armor up every day. The elements of His armor include truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word.
Study up in Ephesians 6:10-17, and dress appropriately for your inevitable battles.
Angels: “Are they [angels] not all ministering spirits sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14) God created the angels for our benefit.
We don’t have to be alone in the battle.
Enlist the power of the heavenly army of angels.
They obey the voice of His Word and do His will. (Psalm 103: 20-21)
You want these mighty angels at your side!
God is with us in adversity.
His Holy Spirit alerts us to evil.
His armor covers us in battle.
His angels serve us in the fray.
He has provided all we need.
We can do this!
