Hello Friend, Jesus said unless we become as children, we cannot enter the kingdom of God. This does not mean we need to be childish, of course. It means we should be childlike. There’s a difference. To be childlike means to approach the things of God with humility, trust, and faith that is simple and pure. One way to understand and develop a childlike faith is to spend time with children. You enter their world and see things with their eyes. You communicate with them in words that they understand, as you also seek to understand what they say to you. Several times in the past, we’ve offered children’s books to help you connect with the kids in your life. Many of them have been written by children’s author Sally Lloyd-Jones because I love how she communicates the truths of the Bible to kids. I’m happy to tell you that this month we are making two more of Sally’s books available as a thank-you gift to those who donate to Harvest Ministries. The first book is simply called Near, and it captures the themes of Psalm 139—that we are a part of God’s wonderful world, that He will never leave us, that He knows us, protects us, and loves us. The second book is Baby’s Carry Along Bible. It’s a board book with Bible stories geared for little ones. It’s got a handle so that they can carry it with them to church, just like Mom and Dad. Both of these books are perfect for ages newborn to four years old. It’s never too early to instill in children the desire to read God’s Word or the wonder of the truths that we find there. A copy of BOTH of these books will be sent to you this month when you donate to the ministry of teaching and evangelism through Harvest. |
