Be Strong and Courageous
Cheryl Weber
Life brings many challenges, some that stir up fear and feelings of inadequacy.
Whether these challenges blindside us, leaving us in confusion or come through a step of faith God has asked us to take, he calls us to be strong and courageous.
He promises that his presence will always go with us (*Joshua 1:9, Matthew 14:26-27) and is within us as believers (John 14:17).
But to take full advantage of his power, guidance, and victory, we must understand and act upon important truths outlined in his word:
-Strength and courage are part of who we are in Christ. (Ephesians 6:10, Proverbs 28:1)
-It is God’s strength that gets us through. (Isaiah 40:29-31, Isaiah 57:15)
-Consistent meditation on and obedience to God’s word strengthens and guides us. (Joshua 1:7-8, Psalms 1:1-3)
-A clean conscience and a pure heart preserve our peace and confidence. ( Psalms 15:1-2, Isaiah 32:17)
-God asks us to move ahead despite our fear. That is true courage and it paves the way for him to act. (1 Chronicles 28:20, 2 Chronicles 15:8)
-Be patient and wait on God’s timing. Don’t give up. (Psalms 27:14, Psalms 37:7)
-It is the Lord who gives victory. (Romans 8:37, Joshua 10:25, 1 Corinthians 15:57)
-The rewards for faithfulness and persistence are worth fighting for. (2 Timothy 4:7-8, James 1:12)
*“Have I not commanded you?

Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 NIV)
So go out! Be strong and courageous as you walk with the Lord.
Thank you Lord, that you have made me strong in your strength and that you will never leave me as I live in obedience to you. Amen
