WND EXCLUSIVE
EXPOSED! ANTIFA'S INTENT FOR AMERICANS
Filmmaker Trevor Loudon speaks on the threat of civil war
Members of “antifa” suddenly are everywhere.
From shutting down conservative speakers on campus to organizing nationwide protests to “drive out the Trump/Pence regime,” the masked and violent black-clad extremists are constantly in the headlines.
However, as a special report from WND makes clear, “antifa,” or “anti-fascists,” have been around since the aftermath of World War I. And a new documentary from Trevor Loudon and the Capital Research Center shows American conservatives are becoming increasingly aware of the threat from the far left.
Loudon is best known as a dedicated investigator of the far left, having spoken before hundreds of audiences and served as the narrator of the explosive film “The Enemies Within.” But Loudon says he became increasingly concerned about the rise of “antifa,” and he exposes the group’s origins, goals and tactics in the new Capital Research Center film “America Under Siege.”
“My mission is to expose the influence of radical and terrorist groups in the mainstream political parties, academia, media and the culture,” Loudon explains in the film. “In my recent travels, I’ve come across two phrases more and more often: ‘antifa’ and ‘civil war.'”
Loudon sees antifa partially as a reincarnation of the “black bloc” tactics, which were responsible for rioting and property destruction during violent protests against the Iraq War and the Occupy Movement. In the documentary, Loudon slams the group as responsible for “massive amounts of violence and chaos.”
However, Loudon identifies a crucial difference between the “black bloc” actions of the past and those that have followed the 2016 presidential victory of Donald Trump.
“Numerous reports, from victims and media alike, of police refusal to intervene in incidents of violence,” Loudon states, identifying the new phenomenon. “I became increasingly appalled by regular displays of extreme violence and disgusted by a mainstream media which either ignored, excused or even glorified the thuggery.”
Loudon identifies the founder of the first “antifa-type units” as Leon Trotsky, the founder of the Red Army and the organizer of paramilitary thugs who suppressed opposition to Communism.
“The antifa concept was so successful that Trotsky spread it through Italy, Germany and other European countries,” says Loudon.
This analysis largely agrees with that in “Antifa: Rise of the Alt Left,” which identifies “antifa” as simply a brand used by the Communist Party.
The “Alt-Left” has been around for decades, but conservatives have remained ignorant. Now, WND takes you inside antifa with an exclusive special report revealing the origins, motivations and future of America’s most widespread and active domestic terrorist group. “Ironically, though antifa claims to be necessary to keep fascism from rising, fascism only arose in the first place because European nations were fearful of revolutions launched by communists and anarchists – i.e. antifa itself,” says the report. “Antifa always was just a brand for already existing communist and anarchist activists. In its origins, antifa wasn’t even a separate concept, just a front group for already existing leftists. And today’s antifa draws its symbols, insignia and philosophy most directly to the far-left groups that arose in interwar Germany.”
Steve Deace, a nationally known conservative talk-show host and author of “Rules for Patriots,”argues the fight between fascists and anti-fascists was a “sibling rivalry.”
As the WND Special Report “Antifa: Rise of the Alt Left,” notes, fascism was unique because it directly competed for the loyalty of working classes in a way European conservatives, classical liberals, aristocrats and monarchists never had before.
“Essentially, the communist revolutionaries and their ‘direct action’ tactics had created their own nemesis capable of defeating them in the streets and willing to compete with them for the loyalty of the workers,” the report says. “Fascism was not a coherent ideological movement that spontaneously gained power – it was a response to communist violence, reactionary in the purest sense of the word.”
Indeed, Loudon cites an internal report from the Sturmabteilung, the S.A., claiming 55 percent of the brownshirt ranks were former communists or socialists.
“They called them ‘beefsteak Nazis,'” says Loudon in the documentary. “Brown on the outside, red in the center.”
As does “Antifa: What Americans Need to Know about the Alt-Left,” Loudon traces the return of “antifa” in the 1990s as rooted in old-line socialist and communist movements confronting neo-Nazis who were challenging the Reds’ domination of working class politics and certain music scenes. Among the targets of “antifa” protests was President Ronald Reagan, who challenged the far-left protesters by observing if they had the kind of communist government they evidently wanted, no protests of any kind would be permitted.
Today, more conservatives are seeing through the deception of “anti-fascism” and recognizing the communist and anarchist movement behind the benign-sounding “antifa” brand.
“Antifa represent the chaos of Germany’s Weimar Republic and provide the violent complement to academic neo-Marxism,” wrote Joseph D’Hippolio in The Federalist recently. “Like their philosophical comrades, antifa seek to destroy the American emphasis on liberty under law and to impose a revival of one of history’s most repressive ideologies.”
On Nov. 4, antifa groups nationwide are planning demonstrations designed to “drive” the Trump administration out of power. The umbrella group “Refuse Fascism,” which is hosting the protests, is a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party.
The Revolutionary Communist Party is an openly anti-American organization known for its signature chant, “2-4-6-8, America was never great!” The RCP has also staged multiple burnings of the American flag.
As both the WND Special Report “Antifa: What Americans Need to Know about the Alt-Left” and the Capital Research Center’s film “America Under Siege,” indicate, all Americans are under threat from antifa. According to the antifa definition of what constitutes fascist or oppressive ideas, the vast majority of all human beings everywhere, at all times and throughout all history, are rendered proto-fascists. Antifa are open about their intention to deny free speech to their enemies, which includes every conservative, libertarian and classical liberal.
And as Trevor Loudon notes, America is the last hope for free speech.
“If that liberty is lost here, it will die in every corner of the world,” he concludes in the film.
