Trump to UK's May: Focus on 'Radical Islamic Terrorism'
President Donald Trump on Wednesday fired back at British Prime Minister Theresa May, saying she should stick to rooting "Radical Islamic Terrorism" from her own backyard before lecturing him.
Trump's tweet was a response to May's office saying the president was "wrong" to retweet three anti-Muslim videos early Wednesday that had originally been tweeted by Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of Britain First, a nationalist group that opposes what it calls the "Islamification" of the U.K.
"It's wrong for the president to have done this," May's spokesman James Slack told reporters, adding Fransen's group "seeks to divide communities through their use of hateful narratives that stoke tensions" and "is the antithesis of the values that this country represents: decency, tolerance and respect."
Reporters asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Sandersabout claims that at least some of the videos were not really Muslim immigrants.
"The threat is real and that is what the president is talking about," Sanders said.
