STATE OF MIND
PREREQUISITES TO BE A DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN
Exclusive: Gina Loudon compares '2 conventions, 2 very different ideologies'
Two conventions, two very different ideologies.
Once upon a time, the two major political parties shared many common values, and the differences were nuanced.
No more. Today, there are prerequisites to being part of each party that set them diametrically opposed to each other.
To be a Democrat, you must be able to generalize in big, Marxist ways. You must actually subscribe to the mantra that all black people are victims of a system that is inherently racist and evil and that white people are the creators and administrators of that system.
Democrats must cynically believe that all white people are part of the problem and, therefore, guilty until proven innocent. This requires a rejection of all Judeo-Christian principles. That’s why, in an unprecedented Marxist move, they actually removed God from their platform in 2012.
Democrats must subscribe to the idea that all police are guilty, even the good ones, because they are part of a mysterious, never seen but often cited racist system. All wealthy people are guilty oppressors who do not actually work for a living and deserve only to have their wealth taken since they didn’t really earn it. Instead, they exploited victims of the system to attain it. As such, all guilty people above are fair game to militant leftist subscribers to the broader Black Lives Matter movement.
The distinction, that leftists love to gloss over is that they honestly believe that when an abortion clinic is bombed, or when Timothy McVeigh committed his crimes, that is what all white Christians really think. They see him as a bad actor doing what all white people wish they could.
But if a black Muslim does it, then that’s just an isolated crazy person, a victim of systemic bigotry and oppression. Muslims are to be excused for their behavior, but a white Christian never could be, since they start out guilty, based upon the leftist worldview.
Never in history was this more evident than the darkness that encapsulated the DNC last week. The only American flags found on night one of the convention were the ones being burned outside the convention hall. As a Medal of Honor recipient recounted how he lost his leg in a bombing in Afghanistan, protesters chanted from the convention floor.
The short moment of silence for fallen police officers wasn’t even sacred enough for Democrat convention goers to keep quiet. The Republicans have their prerequisites, too.
To be a Republican, you have to believe that, though sinful, men are basically good, and big government can remove the individual responsibility from the equation, and quickly become evil. You must believe all people are created equal, and they should be judged by the content of their character, rather than the color of their skin or other peripheral matters. Lastly, you must believe in freedom, which has always been the hallmark of America. Free markets, free people able to exercise free will, and free thought are all prerequisites of being a Republican.
The past two conventions were clear evidence of all of this.
I was honored to be part of a convention that, instead of shouting down law enforcement during a moment of silence for fallen heroes, cheered and thanked them as they went by.
I was proud to serve as delegate to a convention where you couldn’t toss a liberal without hitting an American flag.
And I was honored to be part of an honest press corps at the RNC convention, who didn’t cover up criticisms of its own party to brainwash its blind followers.
Finally, I was proud to be part of a convention that seeks to protect freedoms, to bring people together, and to create jobs based on free-market principles.
I could never be part of a convention that divides people based upon Marxian ideals of race, gender, class, etc., rather than judging them as Martin Luther King Jr. would – on the content of their character.
I could never be part of a convention that punishes all people who drive a car for the science denying goal of environmentalism, rather than the one who wants to punish criminals who seek to destroy our way of life.
Some are discouraged because they say they have never seen an America so divided. I am encouraged, because never before has the choice been so clear.
