STATE SEIZES VIDEOS BEHIND PLANNED PARENTHOOD STING
David Daleiden claims home raided in 'attack on citizen journalism

Officials with the office of Attorney General Kamala Harris of California seized the videos and personal materials used by pro-life activist David Daleiden to accuse Planned Parenthood of selling fetal tissues.
Daleiden, in a Facebook post, called the seizure “an attack on citizen journalism,” and vowed his Center for Medical Progress organization “will pursue all remedies to vindicate our First Amendment rights,” he wrote.
CMP has released about a dozen videos in the last nine months that show hidden camera discussions with Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale and disposal of aborted baby parts, as WND has previously reported.
“The California Attorney General’s office of Kamala Harris, who was elected with tens of thousands of dollars from taxpayer-funded Planned Parenthood, seized all video footage showing Planned Parenthood’s criminal trade in aborted baby parts, in addition to my personal information,” he wrote.
Daleiden went on: “Ironically, while seizing my First Amendment work product, they ignored documents showing the illicit scheme between StemExpress and Planned Parenthood. “This is not surprise – Planned Parenthood’s bought-and-paid-for AG has steadfastly refused to enforce the laws against the baby body parts traffickers in our state, or even investigate them – while at the same time doing their bidding to harass and intimidate citizen journalists.”
Harris is seeking the Democratic Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Barbara Boxer. She also participated in a pro-Planned Parenthood rally in Washington, D.C., that was aimed at pressing for women’s reproductive rights and freedoms, while serving as San Francisco district attorney, SFGate.com reported.
Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation have sued Daleiden and his organization for alleged violations of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
The Los Angeles Times reported a federal judge has already ruled Daleiden’s undercover videos were not the work of a journalist, and that he used fraudulent means and selective editing to produce and distribute the materials.
“His actions are not without consequences,” said Vicki Saporta, the CEO of the National Abortion Federation, in a statement reported by the Los Angeles Times.
Matt Heffron, a former federal prosecutor from Arizona and currently a legal adviser to Daleiden, said, “To storm into a private citizen’s home with a search warrant is outrageously out of proportion for the type of crime alleged. It’s a discredit to law enforcement, an oppressive abuse of government power.”
