A school funded by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the Rafah refugee camp in southern Gaza on March 3, 2010.From Dr. Mike Evans:
Israeli soldiers have paid a very heavy price as they work to destroy the terror tunnels built by Hamas to attack the Jewish people. The openings to the tunnels are usually concealed in civilian residences and buildings—and often those buildings are packed with IEDs (improvised explosive devices). The tunnels cannot be allowed to remain. They are a key part of Hamas' plans to kill as many Jewish people as possible. But the cost of destroying them is high. And the people of Israel are suffering greatly during this time.
Because of the urgent appeals we have received, my son Michael David Evans II, is in Israel right now to coordinate assistance with the most urgent needs. We are in urgent need of your help. We can only say yes if you say yes. Michael will be in the front-line towns within miles of the Gaza border. He will also be at your bomb shelter/community center in Jerusalem—the finest in the nation—and will be going to Haifa, where you are feeding 2,000 elderly, impoverished Holocaust survivors each week. He will be with the soldiers assisting them and in the hospitals comforting the wounded. Please pray for his safety on this urgent trip.
