Do you know what your children and grandchildren are being taught in school this year? 
There's a dangerous power-grab unfolding within your local school system. It's called the "Common Core State Standards Initiative." And it has the Obama Administration written all over it.

As a fellow parent — especially as a mom — I want you to know: Common Core fails you. It fails your student. It fails the fiscal test. And it fails your state's rights.
At CWA, we see red flags waving all over this "reform" — and we are leading the way, state-by-state, to see this dangerous legislation defeated.

Here are just a few important things you should know:

•Common Core was dangled as an incentive to the states by being tied to "Race to the Top" grants and "No Child Left Behind" waivers.

•Through Common Core, the government is essentially bribing states with much-needed federal money, grants, and waivers, to relinquish their rights.

•It is an assault on states' rights and hands the federal government the reins to your child's education (we know how this ends — we're still wading through the muck and mire of ObamaCare, the federal high-jacking of your health decisions and mine).

•It threatens student and family privacy through implementation of intrusive data-collection and tracking on every student.

•It has a high price tag. Costs associated with the new standards and assessments are estimated to be nearly $16 billion over the next seven years.

•Common Core was, and still is, being designed behind closed doors ... with little to no parent or state input.
