“All people will hate you because you follow me, but those people who keep their faith until the end will be saved.” (Matthew 10:22 NCV)
I must admit, I have done some things in life where I deserve to be hated.
I have been impatient with others and have not treated people very well at times.
This is not because I am wholly selfish, but because I don’t always think about the needs of others.
Other times, I just get tired, and end up not treating people the way I should as a Christian.
While sometimes I feel I deserve to be hated, I do not want to be hated by anyone.
However, if I am going to be hated I would rather they hate me because I love Jesus and want to follow his ways.
One time, I was doing something for the Lord and I was called a Bible believing B…(you can fill in the blank).
Additionally, years ago I stood out in front of the local courthouse during a primary election wanting to get signatures for a marriage amendment.
I was told I was intolerant because I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.
We need to deal with our bad behavior as Christians.
People should see Jesus in us because of how we treat other people. Nonetheless, there are times as Christians we need to take an unpopular stand for the Lord.
In that instance, it’s not a bad thing to be hated.
After all, we need to please God not man.
We need to keep the faith and take a stand for Jesus and not worry about being hated.
It will show that we are true followers of Christ.
