Harris, Clyburn join Biden's campaign to undermine 2022 elections
Claim vote won't be legitimate without their elections takeover
Even as Joe Biden is being criticized for damaging America's elections by openly casting doubt on the legitimacy of the coming 2022 balloting, Vice President Kamala Harris and House Majority Whip James Clyburn have joined the effort.
They both, in the wake of Biden's comments undermining the 2022 elections' legitimacy, did the same thing.
An editorial in the Washington Examiner explained that the Democrats claims, in fact, are "false."
Biden triggered the firestorm by stating, when asked about the legitimacy of the 2022 elections given that his party's elections takeover strategy in Congress failed:
"I'm not going to say it's going to be legit," he stated. "The increase and the prospect of being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these reforms passed."
The reforms he was referencing including a ban on state voter ID laws, mandates to use the dangerously insecure mail balloting and more.
They are all the strategies used by leftists in the 2020 election and Democrats insist they be made mandatory nationwide.
Actually, during the 2020 election process the Democrats took advantage of vague or unclear requirements to remove President Donald Trump from office. For example, Mark Zuckerberg handed over $420 million – outside of the nation's election funding laws – to activists and told them mostly to recruit voters from Democrat areas.
Further, legacy and social media companies chose one side for which to advocate, and suppressed accurate reporting about scandals involving the Biden family and international players, in which Joe Biden was implicated.
Analysts have concluded that either strategy changed the vote enough to give Biden the victory, and without them he would have lost.
The Examiner cited President Trump's charges that the 2020 election was stolen, and offered criticism of his opinion.
But, it wrote, "Now, it is President Joe Biden who is undermining faith in elections and dividing the country. His claim, equally false, is that the 2022 elections will not be legitimate because Democrats failed to pass their partisan voting procedure bills Wednesday night."
White House press secretary Jen Psaki immediately launched into a backtracking, attempting "to change what Biden had said."
But, the commentary pointed out, "[Biden] directly linked the Democrats' bills in Congress with the illegitimacy of the 2022 election. If Psaki wants to say Biden is old or tired and misspoke, that would be one thing. But she cannot pretend he didn’t say exactly what he said."
Then, too, Harris and Clyburn joined Biden's message.
On CNN, asked about the election's legitimacy because of the failure of the Democrats' elections takeover, Clyburn said, "I'm absolutely concerned about that."
On CBS, the New York Post reported, Harris doubled down, charging that the "topic of the conversation" is "the right of all Americans who are eligible to vote, to have access to the ballot unfettered."
Harris claimed there have been "purposeful, direct attempts" to make voting more difficult, but provided no evidence.
The Examiner commentary said requirements such as voter identification never have been considered "voter suppression in the past, and the vast majority of voters don't believe this is voting suppression now."
Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley warned that the rising claims by Democrats about a "plot" to "steal" the 2024 election is hurting the country.
"For months, President Biden, Democratic politicians, and some in the media have hammered away at 'Trump’s Big Lie' of the 2020 election. They insist that former President Trump began months before the election to plant a false narrative that changes in election laws were part of an effort to 'steal' the election. However, in the last few weeks, Biden and others are pushing their own 'Big Lie' that state election laws are now being changed to steal the 2022 and 2024 elections," he wrote.
"What is most striking is how these claims are detached from the actual laws themselves — the power of this claim being based entirely upon its repetition rather than its foundation."
Turley explained, "Now it is the Democrats and some in the media who are declaring a 'plot to steal' the 2024 election due to electoral changes in red states. The changes are being used as an excuse to federalize elections in the United States, an area that has been largely left to the states."
He continued, "Biden’s embrace of rage politics has fueled the hysteria surrounding these laws," and pointed out the Washington Post gave Biden "Pinocchios" for "falsely and repeatedly" claiming state laws limit voting.
"Requiring voter identification has been repeatedly cited as clear evidence of an effort to steal the election. However, 80 percent of the public supports voter identification rules. The courts have overwhelmingly upheld these rules as constitutional," Turley noted.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said in at interview documented by Fox that the problem rests with Biden.
"He may live in a world where he makes up things and then he believes whatever he makes up, and the president of the United States, that is really dangerous. So, I think we, as Republicans, have an obligation—not just to reach out to our base, but to broaden that base dramatically by offering solutions," he said.
"You just showed a picture of Glenn Youngkin—the new governor of Virginia—who’s doing a great job of reaching out to independents, to Democrats, to minorities…to creating a vision of a better Virginia that brings people together. All those governors you showed who are doing great jobs—same thing—they’re positive they’re solution-oriented, and as a result, not only are their states doing better, but the governors are doing pretty darn well."
