Tom,
Janie* is a single mom working to provide for her two children—11 and 15 years old.
Janie is Jane Doe #14 in our lawsuit against NorthShore.
The Illinois-based hospital health system has unlawfully denied all religious exemptions to the COVID jabs, even as it allows its staff to harass and humiliate Christians over their religious beliefs.
Janie, a senior applications analyst, has already had and recovered from COVID, then later tested for the antibodies, proving her body had defeated the virus.
NorthShore excused Janie from weekly COVID testing and was accepting religious exemptions.
But in mid-September, NorthShore suddenly changed its tune. The health system that employs more than 10,000 people reversed its previous position and mandated the shots.
All staff must get the jab or lose their jobs—no exceptions! All previously granted exemptions were revoked.
As a mother of two and a firm believer in Christ, Janie knows just how precious life is.
One of her sons suffers from congenital defects and asthma.
His health depends on the medical insurance and financial provision Janie’s job provides.
Yet the jabs NorthShore is demanding were created with and/or tested on aborted fetal cell lines.
Janie feels that to take these drugs would be an affront to God, the giver of life.
Without her job, Janie will lose her house as well as the necessary medical insurance her children need to survive and thrive. The stress on the family has been almost unbearable.
Janie’s children worry about where they will live if Mommy loses her job and their home.
The stress of the situation, combined with the shocking bullying tactics used by NorthShore’s staff, is causing Jamie not only psychological harm, but also her adrenal and cortisol levels have skyrocketed, damaging her physical health.
Nov. 1 is the deadline for these jabs for Janie and other NorthShore health care workers.
If they do not get the jab, they will lose their jobs.
Our emergency hearing in this case will take place tomorrow.
Please pray for a good result that will restore religious freedom to Janie and all other staff members.
U.S. SUPREME COURT IS SET TO RULE ON OUR MAINE CASE.
UPDATE ON MAINE CASE: The Supreme Court is poised at any moment to deliver a ruling on our request for an emergency injunction against Maine Gov. Janet Mills and her latest attempt to discriminate against Christians and religious adherents.
We should have a ruling by Friday in the Maine case, even as our attorneys are also in court for our Illinois case.
I will update you on the results as soon as I can.
For these health care workers, their final day of work will be tomorrow—October 29—if we do not prevail at the High Court.
In the Maine case, we represent over 2,000 health care workers with stories similar to Janie’s case in Illinois.
Gov. Mills ordered health care facilities to refuse all requests for religious exemptions to the COVID shots.
If they do not, Mills threatened to revoke their business licenses. This is not surprising, considering Mills discriminated against churches by threatening to impose fines and jail time on those who dared gather for worship.
Liberty Counsel dragged Gov. Mills to the Supreme Court over that blatant discrimination against churches.
Now the Court is reviewing our newest case against Mills and is set to rule this week.
One of our plaintiffs in the Maine case is a dentist who, based on his own religious convictions as well as in honor of his employees’ religious convictions, refuses to implement Gov. Mills’ unlawful, discriminatory mandate.
Mills says she will REVOKE the license of any business that refuses to obey her illegal decree.
Our dentist plaintiff and his employees stand to lose their livelihoods due to Gov. Mills’ overt religious discrimination.
LIBERTY COUNSEL IS FIGHTING TO STOP THE MANDATES.
But we cannot do this important work without YOU.
We never charge for our legal representation.
These antireligious mandates and discriminatory orders have caused our offices to be absolutely flooded with pleas for help that have severely taxed our resources.
We’ve trained over 80 affiliate attorneys to help us fight these attempts to eradicate religious freedom—and we are still overwhelmed by the unbelievable volume of calls, letters and emails pleading for help.
The calls are heartbreaking.
We both cry and pray with callers as we work to free them from tyranny.
But with every new tyrannical edict, our resolve to defend religious freedom increases.
OUR VITAL WORK HELPS KEEP AMERICA FREE!
Liberty Counsel has also filed a massive class action lawsuit against Joe Biden on behalf of military members, federal employees and civilian contractors fighting to have their religious exemptions to the COVID shots honored.
The emergency hearing is scheduled for Nov. 15.
Please join us as we fight for life and liberty. Donate now and a generous Challenge Grant will DOUBLE THE IMPACT of your donation.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
