We are all still rejoicing over what God did at this year’s SoCal Harvest at Angel Stadium. Although this event was different than anything we’ve ever done before, our goal was simple and unwavering: preach the gospel and invite people to Christ.
In the end, we saw 40,000 people join at the stadium, and an additional 200,000 join us online. But what really keeps me going is not necessarily the big numbers; it’s the individual stories.
I want to share with you one testimony from a woman named Brenda who responded to the invitation to accept Christ. She recounts how she felt as thousands of people went forward that night onto the field:
I sat in my seat at the stadium minding my own business, not really having decided anything. Frankly, I was a little bit scared and intimidated at the outpouring of emotions that I was seeing. . . . The church was a personal thing for me, and I can't quite tell you why I decided to come tonight, but looking back at it, it must have been the Holy Spirit because there is no way I would have done this myself.
While the evening was going on, I kept listening to the worship, listening to Pastor Greg, and knowing that there would be a moment where I would have to make a decision, which would impact the rest of my life.
Frankly, I hadn't made that decision until the very last minute; Jesus must have worked on me because before I knew what happened, I felt myself walking down the steps and onto the field. . . .
I eventually found myself next to a couple of people praying . . . They asked me if I was a believer or If I was making that decision now. I looked at them and said, “Yes, I think so,” and they looked at me with a smile on their faces and asked If I wanted to pray with them, and I gave my life to Christ right there. Such a simple prayer, such a huge impact. I'll never forget that night, what it felt like, what it looked like. I was finally saved.
For Brenda, and for thousands of others who stepped onto that outfield to make their public professions of faith in Jesus Christ, SoCal Harvest was a night they’ll never forget. It was a moment that changed everything!
All of this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the thousands who prayed, volunteered, and supported this outreach financially. In short, we couldn’t do it without you. But I also want you to know that we’re not slowing down!
When you give to support Harvest Ministries, you are helping to support continued evangelism this year and beyond—as we’re planning two films and two live events in 2022, including a new experience we’re calling “Jesus Revolution” at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Your generosity changes lives.
