Should a Lack of Peace Always Stop Us?

So, does a lack of peace with a person or situation automatically indicate the Holy Spirit is not guiding us?
No.
Right before the cross, it is pretty evident that Jesus lacked peace with the mission ahead. Specifically, being forsaken for a time by the Father so that in Christ, we will never be forsaken.

There are countless examples in the Bible of Holy Spirit-led men and women being directed into situations and relationships that lacked peace.
Often, the enemy used the spirit of fear to try and stop them.
Think of how the spirit of fear attempted to foster permanent division and prevent the original Apostles from associating with Paul, their onetime persecutor. The Apostles may have first mistaken the fear and discomfort they felt about Paul as the Spirit's warning. But they were wrong.
We're not called to walk by feelings but in love by faith.

One prime area where the enemy uses distressing feelings to stop us is in sharing Christ.
I have shared Jesus for years and the enemy still tries to use the fear of man to stop me.
Often, I do not feel peaceful when sharing Christ with an atheist, but I know God's desire for them.
If I press through the fear, the Holy Spirit often shows up.
We need to understand that satan often twists scriptures to his advantage, using feelings to control us.

His goal is to stop the truth and to divide and conquer, to separate believers.
He knows the power we have together in Christ.
Quite often, we must get past our feelings to do God's work.
Those uncomfortable feelings we are having may very well be the enemy trying to divide us and to stop God's work.
We are to love and pursue peace but not at the expense of the truth.

Sometimes the truth is uncomfortable, and sharing it will not be getting easier in the coming days.
So, it's best to cast aside the spirit of fear today and start.
