Rev. Graham: Biden Admin. Wants to 'Silence Parents' Who Oppose 'Critical Race theory'

(CNS News) -- Noting that communist governments use their power to silence their citizens, Rev. Franklin Graham said the Biden administration is doing exactly that by trying to silence parents who oppose the teaching of Critical Race Theory in their children's schools.

Critical Race Theory, or CRT, in general claims that all social institutions, legal structures, and public policies in the U.S. are inherently pro-white (or pro-European) and anti-black, and therefore must be dismantled to attain true equality. 

"We know that today racism is sustained more through law, policy, and practices than through individual bias and discrimination," said Boston University law professor Jasmine Gonzales Rose, who teaches CRT.

In an Oct. 7 post on Facebook, Rev. Graham said, "It’s an ominous sign when the government uses its power to try and silence the voice of the people. 

That’s how communism works. Anyone who speaks against communism or the goals of communism becomes the enemy."

"And we’re seeing this happen right in our own country," said Graham. 

"The Biden administration, which bows to the radical progressive left, would like to silence parents who voice strong opinions against critical race theory and trans radicalism at school board meetings."

"Unbelievably, the National School Boards Association asked that parent protests at school board meetings be treated as possible acts of 'domestic terrorism,'" said Graham.  "This tactic of intimidation is meant to silence parents with views the Left doesn’t agree with."

He continued, "Asra Nomani, with Parents Defending Education, has been conducting research into how school boards are implementing 'woke' ideas in their curriculum, said, 'I am what a domestic terrorist looks like? You owe parents an apology!'" 

"We cannot let the government take over the parenting of our children," wrote the reverend.  "School boards and schools should educate, not indoctrinate. If anti-woke, anti-socialism, anti-communism citizens like us do not speak up, get involved, and take a stand to preserve what we have in this country, it will disappear right before our eyes—in just one generation."

Commenting on CRT, the Heritage Foundation reported, "Critical race theory is a philosophy founded by law professors who used Marxist analysis to claim that America is 'systemically racist.' 

... Critical race theory’s key assertion is that racism is not the result of individual, conscious racist actions or thoughts. 

Racism is 'systemic' and 'structural.' 

It is embedded in America’s legal system, institutions, and free-enterprise system, and imposes 'whiteness' as the societal norm."

"The system, including capitalism, is 'rigged' to reward white behavior and preserve white supremacy," reported Heritage. 

"Curricula and training sessions that teach that racism is systemic and structural, and demand that Americans work to dismantle laws, traditions, norms, institutions, and free-market enterprise—the entire American system itself—are part of CRT."
