Incomprehensible Peace
Tricia Draper
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 ESV)
The Apostle Paul takes us through how to overcome anxiety, and how we should pray about everything in Philippians 4:4-9.
Promising God's peace to all who will heed the requirements in those verses.
In doing so, we are promised a peace, that we as humans, cannot understand.
God loves us in ways we can’t possibly comprehend, so this should not be a surprise.
God goes over and above for all His children.
He can do anything, and He enjoys blessing His loved ones.
This kind of peace is beyond the regular kind of shalom or peace that is referred to in other passages in the Bible.
It is not equal to a regular peaceful greeting or even the perfect peace Isaiah speaks about.
This peace is unequaled to anything we can comprehend.
This peace is a quiet assurance that everything will be fine.
Paul promises us God will provide us unbelievable rest in God’s arms.
When we let go of our cares and concerns, we know God will provide everything we need.
His peace will guard our hearts and minds.
This is very comforting.
We should strive for this kind of restful peace every day of our lives.
Father, I thank You for Your unending love.
I gladly give you my worries and receive Your unimaginable peace.
I rest assured knowing You have everything under control.
I love You. Thank You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
