God’s Rightful Place
Sheriena McEvers
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)
The center of our soul — that place deep within our being is our ‘throne room’.
In the flesh, we are masters of our own lives and naturally sit on that throne.
But the throne was designed for God, not us.
We live there alone when we are on the throne in place of God, because God not only wants to live in us — He wants to sit on the throne.
He won’t take it from us by force.
It’s ours willingly to give to Him.
God will not share the throne.
In other words, we can’t co-rule with Him.
It’s only when we surrender the throne to God that we find rest and peace. Until then, there will always be a conflict between the carnal life and the spiritual life.
It is as we step down to allow God His rightful place in our hearts that we find God to be all He claims to be.
It is in relinquishing our own control to His control that we find joy and completeness.
I encourage you to step down from your throne.
He created it for Himself.
Let us not be usurpers sitting on God’s throne.
Let’s step down and give God His rightful place.
Everything will work properly if God is on the throne.
It is only then we’ll feel we are living out our true destiny, each one as God has personally designed.
Almighty God, We step down and relinquish our throne to You, its rightful owner. Amen
