What started as a typical pit stop to the restroom for high school student Alexis Lightcap became a moment that changed her life forever.
Pushing open the door, she instinctively glanced up at the full-length mirror just inside, which offers a fairly panoramic view of the facilities. The first thing she saw was a boy, standing at one of the sinks, washing his hands.
After the inevitable double-take—“Am I in the right bathroom?”—her first thought was straight to the point: “I need to leave.” She darted to her classroom and told her teacher what she’d seen.
Alexis never could’ve imagined what happened next.
