In an 11-10 vote along party lines, the Senate Judiciary Committee narrowly referred Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh to the full Senate for confirmation as an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, but not without additional drama and potential delays.

Ultimately, the decision to delay the vote in the Senate pending an FBI investigation belongs to the Senate leadership.

After being subjected to relentless character assassination for weeks, Judge Brett Kavanaugh finally received his YES from the Senate Judiciary Committee. But the vote didn't come without intense backroom dealing that could result in yet another delay of the confirmation process.

Senator Jeff Flake, who earlier today announced that he would vote "Yes" on Judge Kavanaugh, was cornered by Democrats and he agreed that there should be an FBI investigation into the current allegations against Judge Kavanaugh for a maximum time of one week. 

Coincidentally, Rachel Mitchell, the sex-crimes prosecutor Republicans hired to question Kavanaugh and Ford at Thursday's hearing, spoke at an overnight meeting where all 51 Republican senators were present. Mitchell told senators that the case would not hold up in a courtroom. She would not charge Kavanaugh and would not even seek a search warrant.

This is maddening. The Democrats have no interest in the truth. They only want to delay the vote. I predict that further investigation by the FBI will not support Christine Blasey Ford's allegation against Judge Brett Kavanaugh. I also predict that Senate Democrats will try to fabricate new allegations to continue to delay. The damage inflicted on the nomination process and the Kavanaugh family is incalculable. Judge Kavanaugh is eminently qualified to serve on the Supreme Court. It is time to complete this process and move forward!

+ + A tough day in Washington and for our nation...

Yesterday, the nation was riveted by the coverage of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and  Judge Kavanaugh testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The testimony of Dr. Ford, Brett Kavanaugh's accuser, was widely received as being sincere but factually uncorroborated.

Judge Kavanaugh, in his opening statements and throughout the hearing, adamantly denied the allegations by Dr. Ford and the other two women.
 

Judge Kavanaugh called the process a "national disgrace." He was brought to tears multiple times.  He said, “My name and my family have been permanently destroyed by vicious and false additional accusations."

+ + Exposing the Democrats' "hit job" on Judge Kavanaugh

Senator Lindsay Graham used his time yesterday to issue a powerful statement calling out his Democrat "friends" for their role in this "political hit job." 

"This is the most unethical sham since I've been in politics," Sen. Graham said. "I hope that the American people will see through this charade."

Graham added that he hoped [Democrats] never again got in power because this is how they would act.

Following the day's testimonies, President Trump tweeted "Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him. His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting. Democrats' search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist. The Senate must vote!"

Judge Brett Kavanaugh presented powerful testimony laced with tears concerning this shameful attempt by Democrats to destroy him and his family. No one should be subjected to such despicable tactics. Judge Kavanaugh deserves to be confirmed.

Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation is vital to the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court. Thank you for making your voice heard!
