PRAY FOR AMERICA

By all accounts, the 67th Annual National Day of Prayer this past May 3rd was a huge success! More than 1 million views on Facebook, an estimated 50,000-plus individual public prayer gatherings held in all 50 states, 200 countries reached via television broadcasts with the potential to reach over 1 billion people—these figures indicate the way God is using the National Day of Prayer to ignite a spiritual awakening across our land. Thank you for all that you do to make the National Day of Prayer a reality—your prayers, your participation, and your financial support! This day would also not be possible without the thousands of volunteers who plan and host events around the country. So I am writing today to ask for your continued prayers and financial gifts to support their critical efforts. The National Day of Prayer would not be in every state without our volunteers, their tireless efforts to mobilize their communities to pray for unity and revival. How do they do it? They work hard and are well prepared. Part of that preparation comes through attending the Annual National Day of Prayer Leadership Summit. This year the Summit will be in Northwest Arkansas on October 29-30. At the Summit, I will share my vision for every town, city, and county to host a prayer observation on the National Day of Prayer in 2019. Our volunteers will participate in dynamic worship, Bible teaching and preaching from various national ministry leaders, and training sessions led by task force state and national leaders. It promises to be an inspiring and engaging two days! We will also be releasing the theme for the 2019 National Day of Prayer. These volunteers then go back to their communities and work with their local churches and community leaders to get the word out about the National Day of Prayer. Did you know that there are over 400,000 churches and 200 denominations in the U.S.? What a daunting figure! But we must attempt to connect with each one if we are going to mobilize unified public prayer in every town, city, and county in our nation. And the best way we can connect to these churches is through our volunteers who are members of those churches or who know someone who is! Our volunteers are essential to the success and impact of our May events. Equipping and mobilizing these volunteers and growing the number of National Day of Prayer observances takes tremendous financial resources. So, I write you today to ask for your financial support—to ensure that we have the best trained volunteers motivated to mobilize unified public prayer for America. Will you join me in expanding the scope of the National Day of Prayer, 2019 by helping us expand our volunteer network? Your gift today of $50 could sustain the training of one volunteer. $100 would equip two. $250 will support five. Think what tremendous impact just one volunteer will have if they mobilize their entire community to pray. That is how revivals start and are spread.
