Pope Addresses Anti-Gun March And You Won’t Believe What He Said

Pope Francis is once again in the middle of a controversy.
The liberal Pope addressed the anti-gun “March for Our Lives” held in Washington D.C.
And you won’t believe what he said.
Anti-gun activists exploited the teenage victims of the Parkland, Florida shooting to press the offensive on gun control.
They organized the “March for Our Lives” in Washington on Sunday in order to pressure Congress to gut the Second Amendment.
But the media made it seem like the teenagers were the ones behind the rally.
Critics questioned the idea that teenagers suddenly were a fountain of wisdom on public policy.
In his Palm Sunday address, Pope Francis spoke out on the issue and declared that teenagers needed to be listened to.
CBS News reports:
POPE FRANCIS ON PALM SUNDAY URGED YOUNG PEOPLE NOT TO BE SILENT AND LET THEIR VOICES BE HEARD, EVEN IN THE FACE OF CORRUPT OR SILENT ELDERS. THE POPE’S MESSAGE COMES ON THE HEELS OF A MEETING OF YOUNG CATHOLICS WHO TOLD THE VATICAN THEY WANT A MORE TRANSPARENT AND AUTHENTIC CHURCH, AND A DAY AFTER HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS MARCHED IN YOUTH-LED RALLIES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES TO DEMAND GREATER GUN CONTROL.
“THE TEMPTATION TO SILENCE YOUNG PEOPLE HAS ALWAYS EXISTED,” FRANCIS SAID. “THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SILENCE YOUNG PEOPLE AND MAKE THEM INVISIBLE. … THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO SEDATE THEM, TO KEEP THEM FROM GETTING INVOLVED, TO MAKE THEIR DREAMS FLAT AND DREARY, PETTY AND PLAINTIVE.”
BUT HE TOLD YOUTHS IN HIS HOMILY THAT “YOU HAVE IT IN YOU TO SHOUT,” EVEN IF “WE OLDER PEOPLE AND LEADERS, VERY OFTEN CORRUPT, KEEP QUIET…
… THE POPE’S MESSAGE ALSO RESONATED WITH THE SATURDAY PROTESTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES FOR TOUGHER LAWS TO FIGHT GUN VIOLENCE, A MOVEMENT GALVANIZED BY THE SCHOOL SHOOTING LAST MONTH IN PARKLAND, FLORIDA, THAT LEFT 17 PEOPLE DEAD.
AT THE END OF MASS, THE POPE AND CARDINALS IN RED ROBES LED A SOLEMN PROCESSION CLUTCHING ELABORATELY BRAIDED PALM FRONDS AS THEY WALKED THROUGH THE THRONGS, FOLLOWED BY THE PAPAL BLESSING OF PALM FRONDS AND OLIVE BRANCHES.”
The attempt to use teenagers to front an anti-gun rally failed miserably.
March for Our Lives drew a sparse crowd that was less than half of what organizers predicted.
And the rally was most notable for the disgusting signs comparing the NRA and some Republicans to child killers.
One rally attendee even held up a sign that called for Donald Trump’s 11-year-old son to be killed.
The Pope put his authority behind calling for teenagers to be listened to.
But at this rally, David Hogg – who is one of the leaders of the anti-gun Parkland students –claimed that Florida Senator Marco Rubio was willing to take money from the NRA in order to support policies that murdered children.
Do you think Pope Francis made a mistake supporting this rally?
