God’s Will Be Done
Harriett Ford
“I am willing. Be whole.” Luke 5: 13
We’ve all heard it said. Often after some kind of tragedy or natural disaster. Even at funerals. “God must have needed this young person, so He took him. God’s will be done.”
The words sound so very pious. Jesus said in the Lord’s prayer. “Thy will be done . . .”
however many people ignore the best part,
“on earth as it is in Heaven.” There are no deaths, no tragedies or disasters in Heaven. No tornadoes. No genetic malfunctions. No plagues. Clearly, God’s will is NOT being done on earth as it in Heaven. Not yet.
Who told you the lie that everything happening must be God’s will? If you believe it, you will not resist those things that He told you to resist. That is spiritual apathy. It is choosing not to exercise your God-given authority over the enemy and allowing him to steal, kill, and destroy you or people around you (John 10: 10).
It’s a believer who has the full armor of God provided and never puts it on. Never wields the sword of the spirit against the adversary (Luke 10: 19).
Authority you do not use is victory you will not have.
Father in Heaven, teach me when to take up the sword of the Spirit so that the enemy’s will is not done.
Teach me when to lay down my will so that Yours may be done.
Give me the wisdom to know the difference.
Show me my realm of authority.
I ask for boldness to defeat Satan’s works, both in my life and the lives of others in need. I believe I receive this boldness for Your glory. Amen.
