[Christ Jesus said that
we have one teacher, The Christ.
The following
Scriptures
Represent some of what
the Lord has taught us,
To
be ready for His return.]
Repent
Christ Jesus said:
Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven is near.
Believe
For God so loved the
world that he gave his one and only Son,
That whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send
his Son into the world to condemn the world,
But to save the
world through him.
Whoever believes
in him is not condemned,
But
whoever does not believe stands condemned already
Because he has not
believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
This is the verdict:
Light has come into
the world,
But men loved
darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does
evil hates the light,
And will not come
into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
But whoever lives by
the truth comes into the light,
So that it may be
seen plainly
That what he has
done has been done through God.
(John 3:16-21)
What Works Must We
Do?
The work of God is
this: to believe in the one he has sent.
(John 6:29)
Seek First The
Kingdom Of God
But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness,
And all these things
will be given to you as well.
(Matthew 6:33)
You Must Be Born Of
The Spirit To Enter the Kingdom of God
I tell you the
truth, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit,
He cannot enter the
kingdom of God.
Flesh gives birth to
flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
You should not be
surprised at my saying,
You
must be born again.
The wind blows
wherever it pleases.
You hear its sound,
But you cannot tell
where it comes from or where it is going.
So it is with
everyone born of the Spirit.
(John 3:5-8)
Believers
Must Worship In Spirit And In Truth
Yet a time is coming
and has now come
When true worshipers
will worship the Father in Spirit and truth,
For they are the
kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
God is Spirit, and
his worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.
(John 4:23-24)
Come To Christ And
Drink His Living Water
Jesus said:
If a man is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in
me, as the Scripture has said,
Streams of living
water will flow from within him.
By this he meant the
Spirit,
Who those who
believed in him were later to receive.
(On the Day of
Pentecost)
Up to that time the
Spirit had not been given,
Since Jesus had not
yet been glorified.
(John 7:37-39)
The Truth Will Set
You Free
If you hold to my
teaching, your are really my disciples.
Then you will know
the truth, and the truth will set you free.
(John 8:31)
Christ Jesus Is The
Resurrection And The Life
I am the
resurrection and the life.
He who believes in
me will live, even though he dies;
And whoever lives
and believes in me will never die.
(John 11:25-26)
You Must Love One
Another
A new command I give
to you: Love one another.
As I have loved you,
so you must love one another.
All men will know
that you are my disciples
If you love one
another.
(John 13:34-35)
Jesus Promises The
Holy Spirit
If you love me, you
will obey what I command.
And I will ask the
Father,
And he will give you
another Counselor to be with you forever--
The Spirit of Truth.
The world cannot
accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.
But you know him,
for he lives with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you
as orphans; I will come to you.
Before long, the
world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.
On that day you will
realize that I am in my Father,
And you are in
me, and I am in you.
(John 14:15-20)
Enter Through The
Narrow Gate
Enter through the
narrow gate.
For wide is the gate
and broad is the road that leads to destruction,
And many enter
through it.
But small is the
gate and narrow the road that leads to life,
And only a few
find it.
(Matthew 7:13-14)
Store Up Treasure In
Heaven
Do not store up for
yourselves treasures on earth,
Where moth and rust
destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven,
Where moth and rust
do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your
treasure is,
There your heart
will be also.
(Matthew 6:19-21)
The Golden Rule
In everything, do to
others what you would have them do to you,
For this sums up the
Law and the Prophets.
(Matthew 7:12)
Those Worthy Of
Possessing Christ
Anyone who loves his
father or mother more than me
Is not worthy of me;
Anyone who loves his
son or daughter more than me
Is not worthy of me;
And anyone who does
not take his cross and follow me
Is not worthy of me.
Whoever finds his
life will lose it,
And whoever loses
his life
For my sake will
find it.
(Matthew 10:37-39)
He Must Deny Himself
And Take Up His
Cross And Follow Me
If anyone would come
after me,
He must deny himself
and take up his cross and follow me.
For whoever wants to
save his life will lose it,
But whoever loses
his life for me will find it.
What good will it be
for a man if he gains the whole world,
Yet forfeits his
soul.
Or what can a man
give in exchange for his soul?
(Matthew 16:24-26)
He Who Is Not With
Me Is Against Me
He who is not with
me is against me,
And he who does not
gather with me scatters.
And so I tell you,
Every sin and
blasphemy will be forgiven men,
But the blasphemy
against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
Anyone who speaks a
word against the Son of Man
Will be forgiven,
But anyone who
speaks against the Holy Spirit
Will not be
forgiven,
Either in this age
or in the age to come.
(Matthew 12:30-32)
Your Words Will Save
Or Condemn You
For out of the
overflow of the heart the mouth speaks...
But I tell you that
men will have to give an account of the day of judgment
For every careless
word they have spoken.
For by your words
you will be acquitted, and by you words you will be condemned.
(Matthew 12:34-37)
Act Justly, Love
Mercy
He has shown you, O
man, what is good.
And what does the
Lord require of you?
To act justly and to
love mercy
And to walk humbly
with your God.
(Micah 6:8)
The Lord Does Not
Want Anyone To Perish
But do not forget
this one thing dear friends:
With the Lord a day
is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.
The Lord is not slow
in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.
He is patient with
you,
Not
wanting anyone to perish,
But everyone to
come to repentance.
(2 Peter 3:8-9)
