This pass week I received an e-mail so I did a message on this e-mail here is the message.
Question for today: What does it mean to "be in one accord?"
1. Is doctrine central in that?
2. Is it a loose fellowship term?
3. Can believers who are not disciples be active participants in that union?
4. Is that part of "Body Life" that a "system" assembly prevents maturation into?
5. Isn't that when we are all singing facing one direction?
6. If true discipleship happens what role does endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit have to do with the larger corporate “one accord”?
7. If discipleship, maturing into a workman; and coming into one accord are healthy growth steps, does “one accord” lead into the larger organic expression of the “Assembly of the Most High?”
After looking at some scriptures we will come back and look at these question and give an answer to them.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Continuing Power in the Church
And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon's Porch. 13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.
Acts 15:25-26
It seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
These next three scriptures are of one accord but not in accordance with God's will but in the way of the Devil in a mob mentality.
Acts 7:57-58
Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord;
Acts 18:12-13
When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat, 13 saying, "This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law."
Acts 19:28-30
They were full of wrath and cried out, saying, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians!" 29 So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul's travel companions.
Acts 8:6-7
And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
Phil 2:1-4
Unity Through Humility
2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
NT:4861 sumpsuchos (soom'-psoo-khos); from NT:4862 and NT:5590; co-spirited, i.e. similar in sentiment:
KJV - like-minded.
NT:4862 sun (soon); a primary preposition denoting union; with or together (but much closer than NT:3326 or NT:3844), i.e. by association, companionship, process, resemblance, possession, instrumentality, addition, etc.:
KJV - beside, with. In composition it has similar applications, including completeness.
NT:5590 psuche (psoo-khay'); from NT:5594; breath, i.e. (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only; thus distinguished on the one hand from NT:4151, which is the rational and immortal soul; and on the other from NT:2222, which is mere vitality, even of plants: these terms thus exactly correspond respectively to the Hebrew OT:5315, OT:7307 and OT:2416):
KJV - heart (+-ily), life, mind, soul, us, you.
Now that we have looked at what, in one accord says, in the word of God now let’s address the question of the day from the beginning.
Question for today: What does it mean to "be in one accord?"
In one accord; - together, with one accord (mind, co-spirited. denoting union; with or together, has similar applications, including completeness.
- Is doctrine central in that?
DOCTRINE: A body of beliefs about God, man, Christ, the church, and other related concepts considered authoritative and thus worthy of acceptance by all members of the community of faith.
As long as it is in accordance with the will of God and not of man as said; Christ condemned the doctrine of the Pharisees because it was of human origin (Matt 15:9; Mark 7:7).
- Is it a loose fellowship term?
No, It cannot be, for if it is a loose fellowship term then division can come in and therefore there is no unity or one accord by the word of God.
- Can believers who are not disciples be active participants in that union?
No, Anyone who is not a believer in the saving blood of Jesus is not a disciple of Jesus. For to be a disciple of Jesus you have to be a believer in Him, so therefore there is no union with God. But then there is the union of the Devil as shown in Acts 7:57, Acts 18:12-13, Acts 19:28-30, above.
- Is that part of "Body Life" that a "system" assembly prevents maturation into?
No, As one matures in the Lord one will come more and more in accord with the will of God to which it become as a conformity of your will to God.
- Isn't that when we are all singing facing one direction?
No, It is not a formality of mans rules or action but a will and formality of the heart tuned in to God way and will.
- If true discipleship happens what role does endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit have to do with the larger corporate “one accord”?
UNITY Oneness, harmony, agreement. Unity was apparent on the day of Pentecost when the believers "were all with one accord in one place" (Acts 2:1). The church is a unity in diversity, a fellowship of faith, hope, and love that binds believers together (Eph 4:3,13). So as one matures in the Lord, they have become true disciples who will endeavor to follow their Lord and God in all of His way which creates unity and oneness or as said, in accord with God and fellow disciples.
- If discipleship, maturing into a workman; and coming into one accord are healthy growth steps, does “one accord” lead into the larger organic expression of the “Assembly of the Most High?”
Yes. True maturity is a true expression of oneness with God or an Assembly of the Most High God, YHWH His name.
