BREAKING: TOP CALIFORNIA POLITICIAN ARRESTED, CHARGED with POSSESSION OF KIDDIE PORN
KIRSTERS BAISH| It seems like the political scandals keep getting worse and worse these days. We’re all aware of the horrifying child porn problem in our country, and this is another case to add to the books. Raymond Joseph Liddy, a California deputy attorney general has just been smacked with child pornography charges in San Diego federal court. The pornography was found in his Coronado home. Liddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Obviously, he came up with the $100,000 bond during his arraignment and was placed on house arrest with 24/7 GPS monitoring.
Liddy has been placed on administrative leave after the attorney general’s office explained in a statement this past Wednesday that they were “aware of the matter.”
It all started when an electronic service provider provided the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with a tip explaining that a user had uploaded a photo that fit the criteria of child pornography back in January. The investigation began shortly after. No more than a month later another service provider send a very similar tip to the organization reporting that ten more images had been uploaded using a messaging program.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent the information to the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children task force, who tracked the illegal activity to a home in Coronado. Investigators on the case searched emails and chat logs, which lead them to a user who portrayed himself as a 48-year-old married man with children. However, his user profile also said that he was 52.
FBI agents along with a task force officer went to interview Liddy at his home on Tuesday. Liddy did admit to using Internet services provided by the first provider. He also admitted to using the screen name that was linked to the second provider. He also admitted to using the email addresses that were listed on the complaint. Liddy explained that he had used the screen name along with other online aliases to explore his sexual fantasies online. He said that he did indeed download inappropriate sexual images, but he would delete them directly afterwards. He also admits to the possibility of forwarding photos prior to deleting them from his computer. Liddy insisted that almost all of the images he viewed and forwarded were of adults, however, he does admit that there could have been some images of children as well.
When investigators presented a search warrant on his Coronado home, they found multiple photographs on his computer as well as on a thumb drive. The images showed minors involved in sexual situations. One photo showed a naked little girl blindfolded with both her hands tied together.
Liddy’s LinkedIn profile boasts that he has been a state prosecutor since 2008. He earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law and went on to get his master of strategic studies at the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania. According to a 2010 Top Attorneys online profile found on San Diego Source, Liddy was also a reserve Marine colonel. Liddy’s prosecuting career has mostly focused on healthcare, which included cases having to do with the price of drugs, elderly abuse, Medi-Cal fraud, kickbacks, and off-label drug marketing.
It’s truly disturbing that someone we entrust to be a prosecuting attorney can be such a sick individual. The pedophilia problem in our country is a serious issue that can’t keep being swept under the rug. It’s time for us to fight back in order to protect our children. H/T
