Behold His Righteousness
Toni Babcock
The prophet Micah describes a time in which a man's enemies would be that of his household. (Micah 7:6 KJV) What is most interesting is Micah's response to the dilemma.
"Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me." (Micah 7:7 KJV) Micah knew exactly where to turn at such a time when family, friends, or associates turned against him.
As a Christian, have you ever felt maligned, misjudged or misunderstood by family or friends? Has someone taken undue relish in pointing out your sins for the wrong reasons? Well, God will hear when you call upon Him in faith.
Own your sin as a believer, and repent of whatever it may be, but don't be tempted to let go of the faith God has gifted you with. Hear what the prophet says:
"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: He will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold His righteousness." (Micah 7:8-9 KJV)
See what a healthy faith it is that learns to turn its eyes away from itself and its sin, and onto the Savior and Lord!
Always allow the truth to effect your emotions instead of allowing your emotions to diminish the truth. Satan plays with our emotions to wreck our faith, and sometimes uses people to do that - but he cannot withstand the truth of God's Word.
Cling to Christ and His word in the face of all evil. Behold His righteousness!
