If you miss this column, you'll have to mess up on your own!
By Curtis Dahlgren
"Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must be [made to feel} so frustrated . . that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future." – Saul Alinsky
SOME LOCAL NEWS. "Uprooted tree falls on school bus"; "Two guys go out on Lake Michigan in kayaks, one returns." You have to wonder if those guys listen to FM stations that never allude to the news? There are tragedies and then there aretragedies (avoidable ones). There was a high wind warning, even for tractor trailers. Weren't we also warned about "Rules for Radicals"? The primaries aren't "over."
This morning I saw a car flying an American flag on the roof. I think it was a foreign car. Cognitive dissonance? Maybe the flag was just symbolic. By the way, we've had enough "symbolic" elections, haven't we? First black President. First woman President? Then the first transgendered POTUS? What's next after that?
The pundits, who are wrong 99.8 percent of the time, warn us about Cruz' and the Don's unpredictablility. They are the same ones who said Goldwater would "start a war" and Reagan would "start World War III." Maybe that has already started, but as it turned out, Reagan's "unknown factor" was his trump card in the Cold War. The thing we DID know, though, was that he loved his country!
Whether we are in the early phase of WWIII or not, we are in the late stages of the war started by Alinsky, Ayres, and our other academic radicals: the war on flyover country (the "under-educated"). The average citizen has been made to feel so frustrated – on purpose – that the Majority is not only silent but resigned to fate. As WFB, Jr. would say: "STOP IT!"
In "America's Collegiate Shop of Horrors," J. Matt Barber wrote (November 16, 2015):
Whom the gods wish to enslave, they first make illiterate, and this is all by design:
Prime Minister Thatcher said, "Be warned. A powerful, radical left-wing clerisy is bent on destroying what every past generation would have understood to be the central purpose of education – that is, allowing (in the words of Edmund Burke)individuals to 'avail themselves of the general bank and capital of nations, and of ages.'
"A society needs only one generation to abandon the task of learning and transmitting its culture, for that culture to become an alien, lifeless irrelevance . . . [and] the cultural revolutionaries will drown out what Lincoln called 'the mystic chords of memory' with jarring cacophony. . . . " [National Review, 12/22/97] As her friend President Reagan had the gall to tell the United Nations General Assembly in his farewell address:
"The deliberations of great leaders and great bodies are but overture . . . the truly majestic music, the music of freedom, of justice, and peace is the music made in forgetting self and seeking in silence the will of Him who made us."
The educational "Establishment" Mrs. Thatcher referred to no longer hides its true agenda. Did you ever wonder why "history" disappeared from the curricula and became lumped under the umbrella of "social science"? A few years ago in the 90s, at its national conference, the National Council for the Social Studies had as its slogan "TRANSFORMING CULTURES, Past Present and Future."
Which, being translated, means "Rewriting the past so as to transform the present culture into a more politically correct future (my source for this information was from an actual badge worn at their national "conference").
As George Orwell said, "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past [i.e., history]."
** Tradditionalists see that as a Word of Warning; liberals see it as their roadmap to "success"! In 1997, Maggie spoke in Washington DC at the International Conservative Congress, and she said:
"In the United States, the Republican Party again lost the Presidency; and though Republicans still thankfully control both the Senate and the House they seem – to a friendly foreigner – more afflicted with self-doubt than circumstances warrant . . . " [end of excerpt]
TALK ABOUT HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF, EH? Every conservative in government – of either party – ought to cancel his/her subscription to the NY Times and the Washington Post. They would sleep better at night. They could begin to say publicly that which they at least think in private (without "white guilt"). And they would find out – surprise, surprise – that we the People out in the Outback have been thinking those things for a LONG time! Donald Trump has proven, beyond a doubt, that one does NOT have to fear the PC-brownshirts (IF one is simply speaking the Truth)!
The brownshirts in Higher Education, though, have "not yet begun to fight." If a student tries to say that our Founding Patriots were wise and very smart people, he will probably be asked, "When are you going to quit believing that crap your parents teach you?" The other students – when challenged on a point of "critical thinking" – will either go to a Safe Place for "counseling" – or tell the challenger "Itook a course on sociology. Shut up!"
Yes, the "progressive" advocates of eternal Change have finally discovered the issue of Right and Wrong.
They are right, and you are wrong!
Never mind that we are paying the professor's salary AND the cost of Bernie's "free college education."
MORE, OF THAT, TO COME.

In "America's Collegiate Shop of Horrors," J. Matt Barber wrote (November 16, 2015):
- let's define the terms:
- Trigger: noun, 1. potentially distressful words or learning materials likely to cause PTSD in Millennials who've been helicopter-parented into a frozen state of perpetual dysfunction (e.g., Twain's "Tom Sawyer," the U.S. Constitution or any lecture by Ann Coulter). Paradoxically the word "trigger" is, itself, a trigger, as it is likely to evoke images of scary-loud bang-bangs.
- Trigger warning: noun, 1. the self-wrought burden bohemian professors now face to pre-emptively pamper and advise the little monsters of their own making that they're about to say something that might send them into a fear-driven and jaw-droppingly disrespectfulfrenzy of utterly irrational self-righteous indignation (see schadenfreude).
- Microaggressions: noun, 1. any innocuous word or phrase that, whether intentional or not, gives a liberal an excuse to feign offense (e.g., "America is exceptional;" "When it comes to race, I'm colorblind" [etc.].
- Safe Space: noun, 1. progressive circle of self-entitled, "everyone-gets-a-trophy" pansies free of critical thinking, differing opinions, reality and oxygen. . It was bad in the '60s, but it's far worse now. . Today, they flee, arms in the air, for their Safe Space vacuum chamber.
