BETWEEN THE LINES
THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE MARRIAGE RULING
Exclusive: Joseph Farah predicts God will respond to decision with 'something big'
Once jurists who believe the U.S. Constitution is a “living document” whose meaning changes over time were appointed as lifetime members of the Supreme Court, and once Americans accepted as the law of the land what those justices ruled, the country would never be the same.
No longer would there be three branches of government each having responsibility in a specific role – executive, legislative, judicial review.
If there was any doubt we had reached that tipping point before, Friday’s incoherent, emotional, irrational, reactionary, knee-jerk decision on marriage should put it to rest.
This was not a legal decision. It was a political edict by five men and women in black robes who really believe in their “supremacy.” In short, they believe they are wiser than God who created the institution of marriage and a union of a man and a woman.
Where does this lead?
God knows.
Polygamy? Sure.
Polyamory? Without question.
Legalized incest? Who’s to say no?
But it’s all good, according to Anthony Kennedy and company.
It’s about liberty.
Liberty?
Does Kennedy understand liberty apart from God’s moral code brings on horrors like were experienced during the French Revolution?
Does he understand the role marriage and family play in self-governance?
Does he have any idea of the kind of world he has ensured our children will know?
Nothing is certain. There are no absolutes. Nothing is foreordained as right or wrong. It’s all just a matter of opinion – especially the opinion of unaccountable men and women in black robes.
The rule of law means what they say it means. The will of the people means nothing. They will follow the dictates of the elite leadership who know better.
Make no mistake about it, folks. This decision, hardly unexpected, is a real game-changer for America.
America was morally adrift long before this ruling. This is the fast-track version of moral relativism as national political, legal, educational and cultural policy.
It also serves to divide the citizenry more sharply than any other ruling from on high.
We’ve already seen this same-sex marriage issue used, including by this same court, to portray anyone who dissents from the redefining of marriage as a bigot, a hater, a maladjusted rogue, an enemy of the people.
My prediction? It’s now open season on people of faith – Christians, Jews, anyone who holds marriage to be a sacred institution.
If the abolition of slavery caused a rupture in the American union, what will be the effect of abolishing marriage as it has been known for 6,000 years of human history?
We are living in perilous times.
There will be consequences for this decision. Don’t expect everyone to put aside their most deeply held religious convictions and live happily ever after. Don’t expect the cultural anarchists who put this movement in place just a decade ago to stop here. This is the beginning of their revolution, not the endgame.
As a Christian, I also believe we will be hearing from the author of marriage soon.
I don’t know what form that message will come, but it is certain to be heard sooner rather than later.
America’s elite leadership have taken the side of the enemies of God, and He will take notice.
It could come in the form of an economic crash. It could come in more civil and racial strife along the lines of what has been building in recent years. It could come in the form of an attack on our country from foreign power or terrorist group.
I suspect it will something big. I take no comfort in passing along this warning. It’s just the pattern that God uses to bring His people to repentance for their own good.
Read the Bible. It’s unmistakable.
And while you’re reading the Bible, be sure to see what it says about marriage.
