Hidden Things Belong to God
By Harriett Ford
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing (1 Cor. 13:3 NIV).
Have you ever searched the multiple layers of God's Word and been thrilled to discover what has previously been a hidden truth? I lay awake one night unsatisfied, seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, yet still seeing through a glass darkly.
"Lord I need to understand this, and do this thing, and do this other, and do that one too," I thought. "I need more Bread of Heaven to equip me!"
He seemed to answer; I have given you manna for one day at a time.
"Okay Lord, what's my manna for today?" I asked, ready for my marching orders. One single word echoed in my spirit. "Love."
Love! That's it. Love fulfills all the law, covers a multitude of sins, and when we operate in love it activates faith (Gal. 5:6). Love is what we are wired for as God's children.
Lord, help me to act in love as You recreate me in your image. Then, when I see You, I shall be like You (1 John 3:2).You are the true bread come down from heaven. You are the Word made flesh. I am flesh being made the Word.
