Wow. White House Announces What Obama Wants America to Do About Islam… It’s Insane

In response to the targeted attack on western journalists in France on Tuesday, the White House once again proved that they are living in Bizarro World when it comes to radical Islamic terrorism.

After the attack, which killed ten reporters and two police officers, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said that the Obama administration would “redouble” its efforts to explain “what the tenets of Islam actually are.”

Fantastic. That ought to keep America safe. We can all rest easy now.

Earnest’s comments came in response to a reporter’s question about the attacks on the offices of Charlie Hebdo, a French newspaper known for publishing cartoon images of the Prophet Muhammad despite threats from radical Islamists.

“On the U.S. response to the attack in France, is the U.S. concerned about any risk here from this group or similar groups, and is there any plan to raise threat levels or anything like that in response to the attacks in France?” one reporter asked.

“I’ll say a couple things about that,” Earnest said, according to a White House transcript cited by The Weekly Standard.

“The first is as it relates to the threat level. This is a decision that’s made by the Secretary of Homeland Security, that he makes a decision about raising or lowering the terror threat level based on available intelligence.

“I don’t know of any plans to make a change to the terror threat level,” he clarified, “but I would encourage you to check with the Department of Homeland Security to verify that.”

Okay, so, significant terror attack occurs on a major American ally, and America continues to keep its guard down. Good plan.

But wait, there’s more.

“We are working very closely with leaders in the Muslim community both at home and around the world to try to counter the violent extremist messaging that ISIL and other extremist organizations are using to try to radicalize individuals around the globe,” Earnest added.

Right. Because it’s the messaging that’s the problem. Not, you know, the murders and stuff.

“And we have enjoyed significant success in enlisting leaders in the Muslim community, like I said, both in the United States and around the world to condemn that kind of messaging, to condemn those efforts to radicalize individuals, and to be clear about what the tenets of Islam actually are,” Earnest said.

“And we’re going to redouble those efforts in the days and weeks ahead.”

Yes, let’s all get together and condemn the messaging.

Don’t worry about the violence, the deaths, the threat to free speech and the exercise of the rights of a free press. It’s clearly the messaging that’s the important factor here.

“(W)e’re very mindful of the threat from foreign fighters,” Earnest concluded, “and the need to try to counter some of the extremist ideology that ISIL is propagating, using some pretty sophisticated social media strategies.”

So, while claiming to be “very mindful” of the threat that “foreign fighters” represent to the American people, the White House response is to go after the Islamic State group’s Twitter feed.

Swell.

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record — but that’s only because the White House does too.

They have yet to learn that radical Islam is itself the threat and that those who carry out its tenants must be met with an equal and opposite reaction.

But what else would we expect from the administration that invented hashtag diplomacy?
