Our Father’s Love - by Denise Ferrell
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Romans 5:19 (KJV)
It may seem a little harsh that God would judge all of humankind based on what one man (Adam) did. Sin is an inherited spiritual condition. We are born sinners. On the other hand, it also seems harsh that only One can pay for all of these sins – One Who is Himself sinless. Though Adam’s sin put the entire human race under condemnation, God’s Grace through Jesus’ death at the Cross was far greater than Adam’s sin. That’s a Father’s love.
God blessed me with Christian parents. I had a wonderful earthly father (who now resides in Heaven with many other family members). Not everyone can claim to have a wonderful earthly father. But to claim God as your Heavenly Father, He only asks that you believe Him – believe that He sent His son, Jesus, to die for you on the Cross in payment for your sins; believe that He arose from the grave; and believe that by this sacrifice, you have been made righteous (placed in “right standing”) with God. Simple enough for a little child to believe, yet complex enough that we will never fully understand it. But God doesn’t ask us to understand it. He only asks that we believe it.
Each person is a creation of God. But we are not His child until we come to Him by faith. If you haven’t yet believed this truth, you can go to Him today. He wants to be your Heavenly Daddy.
