Major Christian charity announces it will hire 'gay Christians'
One of the largest Christian charities in the U.S. says its decision to change its policy on the hiring of homosexuals is "symbolic not of compromise but of [Christian] unity."
In an article posted Monday afternoon, Christianity Today is reporting that the American branch of World Vision has announced a "very narrow policy change" that will permit employment of "gay Christians in legal same-sex marriages."
World Vision president Richard Stearns said in the CT interview that the charity's board of directors was "overwhelmingly in favor" of the policy change, but that it wasn't unanimous. He also stressed the change should not be interpreted as an endorsement of same-sex marriage.
"We have decided we are not going to get into that debate," said Stearns.
"Nor is this a rejection of traditional marriage, which we affirm and support .... This is not us compromising. It is us deferring to the authority of churches and denominations on theological issues. We are an operational arm of the global church, we're not a theological arm of the church."
World Vision is based in the State of Washington, which has legalized same-gender marriage.
My comments: There is no such thing as a “gay” Christian. No person can willfully live contrary to the Word of God and be Christian. The Scriptures tell us that in the Last Day there will be a Great Apostasy [2 Thessalonians 2]. This move by World Vision makes it either a secular organization or an apostate organization. This is an example of the ever increasing pressure the Secular Humanist Culture will put on every Christian organization to conform to their anti-Christ Religion.
