From
Dr. Mike Evans:
Three
years ago this week, Mary Gardner was killed by a terrorist bomb in
Jerusalem. The world paid almost no attention at the time, and now
has completely forgotten about her, but we must not. Mary Gardner was
a Christian Zionist who loved the Chosen People and the land of
Israel. She was 55 years old. Originally from the Orkney Isles, north
of Scotland, she was in Israel to study at the Hebrew University.
Gardner's desire was to learn Hebrew in order to translate the Old
Testament for the people of Togo, where she worked as a missionary
with Wycliffe Bible Translators.
The same evil that motivated that attack is still hard at work to bring death and destruction to as many Jewish people—and their friends and supporters—as possible. The Jewish people need our help right now! And I need your help today. I'm asking you to join with me in a special project to bless the Jewish people at this time when they are under such severe attack. Passover—a time of joyful celebration—is coming in just a few weeks. But for poor and hungry Holocaust survivors, it will be a time of hunger instead...unless we act now.
