Footage of Victim of Brutal Anti-Semitic Attack
Harrowing
footage of the victim of a brutal anti-Semitic attack in Paris has
emerged, posted in the moments immediately following the brutal
assault in which a group of Arab men beat him up and drew a swastika
on his chest. The attackers shouted "death to the Jews" and
"filthy Jew" during the assault, breaking the Jewish
victim's nose and leaving him with severe bruising. Clearly
distressed and shaken, the victim, a teacher identified only as K.
Richard described the details of the attack, and opens his shirt to
reveal the crudely-drawn swastika. At one point he nearly breaks
down, clearly traumatized by the unprovoked violent assault.
Anti-Semitism
in France has hit headlines in recent years and has seen a marked
increase, with the majority of attacks being blamed on extremists
from the country's sizable Muslim community. Earlier this year,
thousands of supporters of anti-Semitic comedian Dieudonnechanted
hate slogans including "Jews
out of France!" in a rally in central Paris. The attack
took place just three days after the second anniversary of the
Toulouse Massacre at the Otzar Hatorah Jewish school. A rabbi and
three young children - including an eight-year-old girl executed at
point-blank range - were murdered by Muslim extremist Muhammed Merah
in an anti-Semitic rampage which sent shock waves throughout France's
600,000-strong Jewish community.
