“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?” Psalms 139:7 NASB
God is always, and in all ways present in us to lead and strengthen the resolve of our faith; to give to us and to be for us.
From Luke chapter nine, we can understand His mandate for becoming a true follower of Jesus:
“And He was saying to them all, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.’” Luke 9:23-29 NASB
I listen to folks share their innermost thoughts of the heart with me, and I recognize that too many live more in fear, than in a trusting faith in God’s authority and promise.
Our loving Father does not want us living in fear and worry. He desires we walk from faith to faith in all we do, for our own benefit and the glory of God.
Becoming a new creation in Jesus includes living out our lives in the Spirit by His strength and our obedience — learning to become a doer of His Word and not just a hearer (James 1:22).
We must abide in Jesus. We cannot go from the presence of the living Spirit and succeed on our own.
By choosing God’s way in Christ, we have taken the biggest step in self-denial, relying on Gods mercy, grace and promises instead of our own self-righteous works.
As we to continue to walk by faith we grow to learn that God doesn’t make mistakes when we follow in faith.
Father, open our hearts to understand Your leading, as your Spirit is before us in all our ways, AMEN.
