“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
I Thessalonians 4:18 (KJV)
Recently, I lost someone who was very close to me and dear to my heart, my mother-in-law.
I think of her often throughout the day and miss her so much.
She was the kindest, most hospitable woman I knew, besides my younger sister.
She made everyone feel welcome whenever you were in her presence.
We had lots of laughs and serious conversations.
Every July for the past two years we would spend a little over a week together in her home (me and my youngest son).
She said she wanted him to know her.
We would watch our favorite game show, “Deal or No Deal,” getting all excited over contestants who would sometimes risk it all trying to become a millionaire.
These set of scriptures have given me hope in such a sad and heartbreaking time in my family’s lives.
I am reminded by the Lord of our Hope of Heaven.
One day we will all be reunited again with our Lord.
I hope these scriptures bring you hope when you are missing loved ones who have passed away.
“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven,” (2 Corinthians 5: 1-2 KJV).
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
Even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord,
That we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord Shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
With the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:
And the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain
Shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
To meet the Lord in the air:
And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words,”
(I Thessalonians 4: 14-18 KJV).
