Psalm 7:17 NKJV – “I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.”
Revelation 4:8b NKJV– “And they do not rest day or night, saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty. Who was and is and is to come!’”
The angels in Heaven and the living creatures offer pure praise to God.
We need to learn to do the same.
The angels were cruelly tested on their allegiance to God when Satan tried to drag all of them with Him.
The angels were cruelly tested on their allegiance to God when Satan tried to drag all of them with Him.
The angels who didn’t fall passed that test 100%, and so were able to offer perfect praise – the praise God deserves, and that we need to give for our own sakes, as it brings us into reality.
But we failed our test.
We allowed sin to reign within us so that we could not offer perfect praise. But we who are redeemed can learn to.
The litmus test is, admitting how broken we are.
Have we fully accepted our fallen nature?
Or are we guilty of thinking we really aren’t all that bad, or certainly ‘not as bad as others’.
Have we turned over to God EVERY detail of our lives? — Every failure AND EVERY SUCCESS?
Every ambition and desire?
All of our understanding of who God is and what He wants of us?
Only then can we offer perfect praise.
If we try to copy how the angels praise God without first acknowledging our brokenness, then we will fail in our attempts to truly praise God.
Fortunately, God looks on our hearts.
He knows when we genuinely want to offer perfect praise.
So, lift up your voices in praise and trust Him to change you, step by step, until that wonderful day when we are fully set free from our fallen nature. Then we will see him face to face and CAN offer Him perfect praise.
