TRUTH IS A PERSON

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 RSV

There simply is no other who can make that claim. 

“…I am the Truth and the Life….” 

All worldly religions claim this or that as their solution, but Christ alone is the Father’s ‘Only Begotten Son!’

I kept meditating on John 14:6, until one day God’s Spirit helped me recognize, 

Truth IS the Person of Jesus, and no other. 

Further down in John 14 when Philip asked about the Father, Jesus sternly replied to Philip;

“…Have I been with you so long, 

and yet you do not know me, Philip? 

He who has seen me has seen the Father; 

how can you say, 

‘Show us the Father’? (cf. John 14:9 RSV).

We, as followers of Jesus recognize him as our Redeemer and our intercessor for our praises and petitions, but sometimes fail to recognize our Lord being ‘Truth as a Person’ – God with skin on and manifested as ‘Truth!'

How we destroy the weapons of Satan’s warfare can only be done through truth— that truth being the power of God’s preeminence. 

Jesus being the truth is the ‘only way’ — 

He’s our spiritual warfare against all unrighteousness. 

For sure, this is divine power, taking every thought captive to obey Christ.

He’s our Truth as the Apostle shares from 2 Corinthians 10:4-6. We are witness to ‘Truth’ as a person when He says, ‘I am the truth’. 

Jesus is our trusting sufficiency who leads us through all our circumstances.

Remember when Pilate had taken Jesus into custody? In John 18 Jesus stood before Pilate as ‘King of the Jews’ and Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” (cf. John 18:38). 

He didn’t see ‘Truth’ standing right in front of him!

Father, whenever we bring our praises and intercessions before you through Jesus our Intercessor, we’re so blessed to know and have intimacy with ‘Truth in action! AMEN.
