LIKE FILTHY RAGS

ALL OF US

Have Become As One Who is Unclean

[ceremonially as leper],

And All Our Righteousness--

Our Best Deeds

Of Righteousness and Justice--

ARE LIKE FILTHY RAGS

Or a Polluted Garment.

We All Fade as a Leaf,

And Our Iniquities, like the Wind,

Take us Away

[Far from God’s Favor,

Hurrying us to Destruction].

[Lev. 13:45; 46.]

Realize, that what Isaiah Speaks of Here,

Is True of All the Best Deeds of Mankind;

THEY ARE ALL LIKE FILTHY RAGS

Before the Living God.

And the only Thing

That Changes that Reality,

Is That which is Done

In and For Christ Jesus,

By His Spirit.

That is why Mankind

Is in a Perpetual State

Of Chaos and Conflict.

That is why Christ Came,

Because Mankind without Him,

Is Hopeless and Helpless;

Lost in Sin.
