Do Not Write Them Off – Jane H. Young
What do you do when you see someone slowly sliding back into the hands of our enemy, the devil?
Do you turn your back as if there is no hope for them?
Absolutely not.
None of us are free from temptation; we all could fall into any sin.
God knew this.
He also knew we would need help at various times in our lives.
His Word reminds us, “But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today,’ so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” Hebrews 3:13 NASB
The devil is running wild in our world right now.
We must be on the watch for ourselves and those we know and love. Actually, we need to go a little further than that — how about those we don’t know?
Pray and ask God daily who you can help, regardless of who it may be.
You may be the only hope for a desperate stranger.
I am not just talking about giving them things; I’m taking about giving them a real life-changing hope, Jesus!
Also, if you know someone who is on the fence spiritually right now, being pulled away from God by worldly ideas, material things, or lusts and many other snares of Satan, go help that person — but do not be judge-mental, and please don't write them off.
First, go in prayer asking for wisdom from God in how you can help them, and what to say or do, because Satan would love nothing more than for us to say or do something that would push that person further into his web.
“My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” James 5:19-20 NASB
Father, teach me to speak words of blessing, encouragement, love and joy into the lives of the people around me; and especially to my family. Amen
