THIS BEING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON

I posted the following nine years ago but it still applies today...

With this being the Christmas season and the reason for the season being Jesus, my thoughts naturally have been on Him and the example He gave us to live.

I am so thankful that Jesus was not entitled and refused to leave heaven; to lower Himself to be amongst us mere humans - That He did come, instead of just thinking someone else would volunteer for the position - That He knew the importance of the part He played in The Father's plan and that no one else could fill that part but Him - That He did not waiver from The Father's plan, even in the face of accusations, betrayal and reality of losing His own life - That He not only was willing to be the sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world, He was committed - That He did not allow His own emotions nor comfort to keep Him from completing The work.

Can you imagine how that would have effected our future if He did base His actions on those, in addition to pride, His rights or position; believing He he had a better plan and did not trust The Father? I can't even begin to imagine what our present would look like, if it existed at all.

With His example, it has been stirring in my spirit how the words we speak, the decisions we make, the actions we take and what we do not only effects us but certainly does effect others; whether we consciously intend for them to or not. I can't think of one thing that I do that does not effect someone in some way. God has not only dropped the weight of that reality into my heart but also the responsibility we all have as The Body of Christ.

There is a ripple effect of each word, decision and action we make that effects the future of not only ourselves and our children but others as well.

Thank you Jesus for your example and what you did for us. May we live that example; considering the cost of each word we speak, the decisions we make and the actions we take. May we be willing to fulfill the plan you have for our lives despite our comfort, the price to be paid; realizing that our obedience (or disobedience) effects others. May we intentionally be a blessing to those around us.
