THE THREE WISE MEN

A lot of folks look at the nativity scenes and see the "three wise men" but they actually didn't show up until Jesus was two years old, which would fulfill major prophecy.

Today a man asked me about that very thing on Ben Shapiro's page. I responded with as few words as I could and ignoring so much detail and other prophecy, it was hard to stick to the simple straightforward point which I still covered briefly. I thought I would share this with anyone interested please feel free to ask questions about what I have written.

There is so much about the birth of Jesus and Bible prophecy its actually overwhelming from Jesus being born in Bethlehem the only city in the world where sheep were officially raised for Passover by Levitically (Priestly) trained Shepherds acting as an extension of the priesthood to Jesus being worshiped by those same Shepherds after God sent Angels to the them to confirm the legitimate birth of the Lamb of God (the Shepherds would have been the first of the Priests to confirm a legitimate Passover lamb) by worshiping Him they not only confirmed Him as legitimate but as God.

Any whooo this is what I sent to the man concerning the Magi (three kings, ect.)

We will do this from Matthew chapter 2. In verses 1-6 we see King Herod freaking out upon hearing the King of the Jews had been born so he inquired of the Priests where the King was to be born and they tell him. In verses 7,8 we see King Herod (an illegitimate King of the people but the priests loved the way he spent their taxes) asking the "Magi" the exact time the star appeared (he is triangulating so he can find Jesus and kill Him which would be a pattern for the rest of Jesus life)

In verses 8-12 we see the Maji finding the "child" (notice it doesn't say baby) and bestowing very prophetic gifts upon Him and worshiping Him (as they should He is God and King)

In the rest of the chapter we see the Maji leaving without going to Herod being warned by an Angel, then Joseph (Jesus' Father) was told to take the "child" to Egypt (a very important sign I will explain in next paragraph), when Herod saw he had been tricked he had every baby boy 2 years old and under in Bethlehem and surrounding areas killed. Verse 16 tells us that Herod had determined the 2 years from the Maji.

~So Jesus was two years old at the time the Maji arrived.~

So here is that "bonus" explanation I promised. It actually starts with Moses, as the sign of Moses is the sign of the "deliverer." But Jesus Himself carried every title, and He lived out a prophetic revealing of that title. Sounds confusing but here goes.....

In Egypt at the time Moses was born, Pharaoh (King of Egypt) became exceedingly frightened by the Jews(many leaders in history killed Jews because of Gods blessing on their lives) So Pharaoh put out an edict to kill every male child among the Jews who was 2 years old and under.

The Jews mostly lived on the east side of the Nile in a place called Goshen and the major City was on the west side right across the Nile in Egypt.

So Moses Mother placed Moses in a reed basket and placed him in the Nile river, the basket made it to Pharaoh's Palace and Moses was raised there (the Palace was in Egypt not Goshen so Moses had to cross there is a lot of prophecy in that I wont explain now).

When Moses left Egypt he went to Midian (West side) until he became the deliverer of his people as God had designed Him to be.

As we see in verse 13 of Matthew 12 an Angel of the Lord told Joseph (Jesus Earthly Father who was from the tribe of Judah, King linage which would have been uncontested) was told to take the "child" into Egypt until those who threatened His life were dead (verse 20) thus fulfilling more prophecy in verse 15.

When Jesus and His family returned from Egypt they came to live in Nazareth the city of the branch (Nazer) as prophesied and also reminding us of Isaiah 11:1-5.

Jesus would grow up in Nazareth just as Moses had been raised in his knowledge of God through his father on earth (Jethro Father in Law) in Midian. Both of them were then released to deliver the people. For Moses that was his title but to Jesus it would be one of many titles

Later in Matthew 17 we see Jesus talking with Moses and Elijah (Jesus and John the Baptist both wore Elijah's title Matt 17:10)

There is so much more, hours of this stuff, but this should be enough for now.
