Saturday, July 31, 2021 Made for More LISTEN   “But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.” —Philippians 3:7 An heir to a wealthy family, William Whiting Borden was a 19th-century millionaire at an early age. As a graduation present, Borden’s parents give him a trip around the world. His travels through Asia, the Middle East, and Europe deeply moved him, and he felt a burden growing in his heart for people who didn’t know Christ. As a result, he believed God was calling him to go to the mission field. So after graduating from both Yale and Princeton Theological Seminary, Borden began preparing to become a missionary to the Uyghur Muslims in China. First, he went to study Arabic and Islam in Cairo. And while he was living there, he developed cerebral meningitis and died. At the age of 25, William Whiting Borden was dead. Some might conclude this was a waste. No, it wasn’t. In his heart, Borden wanted to do what God wanted him to do. Was he ever able to do it? I guess he wasn’t. But his heart was in the right place. As believers, we should all be able to look back on our lives without regret.  Sure, we make mistakes here and there.  We do things we shouldn’t do.  But in the big picture, we should feel confident that we’ve made the right decisions for Christ. We never waste our lives when we’re investing them in bringing people to Jesus. We never waste our lives when we’re living them for the glory of God. Of course, it’s fine to enjoy the things this world offers—if they’re not sinful things, that is.  But God made us to know Him.  That’s why none of the things in this world really will satisfy us.  They might bring temporary pleasure and some fun, but it’s short-lived.  That’s because we were made for another world. We were made for more. ARE WE BEARING FRUIT FOR GOD?

 

DAILY DEVOTIONAL – JULY 31, 2021 The Only Way to Bear Fruit By Jim Cymbala Fruit in the Bible can mean a lot of things; it can mean fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, meekness, kindness; but it can also mean fruit of ministry.  As we see in the New Testament, certain men from Cyprus and Cyrene went to Antioch, and the hand of the Lord was with them, and multitudes turned to the Lord (see Acts 11:19-26). How did they do that with most of the New Testament unwritten still, no public buildings available for preaching, with Caesar Caligula or Caesar Nero who claimed to be a god on the throne?  How did they do this with no complaining about the culture or the environment and how hard it was with all these pagan gods?  They just got on with the work. A long time ago when I was making excuses for a lack of fruit, God hit me upside the head and brought me down to some important realities.  The only way to bear fruit is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Most people have heard of the famous D. L. Moody, one of the greatest evangelists of the 19th century who was also responsible for founding the Moody Bible Institute.  Four years before he died, Moody wrote a letter without any capitals or punctuation.  Words were misspelled.  The guy would have been laughed out of the building today with our emphasis on slickness and presentation.  However, he bore fruit. People heard him and turned to the Lord.  As scripture says,  “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples” (John 15:7-8, ESV). The work of God is carried on by faith!  “The just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, KJV).  We just have to share the Word because when we do that, the Spirit comes in and then change is possible. Don’t blend that pure, good news in with legalism, church culture, our own cleverness or ‘creative’ additions as a way to express our own egos.  We’re going to have to give an answer one day for the quality of our work (see 2 Corinthians 13:5-7).  Who’s going to be measuring us?  Not our peers! We will be measured by the Word of God. We are called to be ambassadors, and ambassadors only convey the message that they’ve been told to deliver.  No more, no less. COVID SHOT GIVES COLLEGE ATHLETE A SWOLLEN HEART

 

“I was a completely healthy kid. There was nothing wrong with me,” said college athlete Greyson Follmer.  However, after taking the COVID jab, this 19-year-old described being in and out of the ER 15 times with myocarditis (swollen heart area).  And now life holds a much different—cloudier—future for this teen. Every person who has a COVID shot injury has a face, a name and a story of what they had hoped for in their life.  We must listen and we must help. It is one thing to knowingly and willingly accept the risks.  But right now, our nation is hurling down a path to forcing millions to have this shot or else ... no school, no job, no shopping, no groceries, no medicines, no travel, no events, no surgery, and the list goes on! Greyson had asthma and a few food allergies, but that didn’t stop him and his team from playing in the high school soccer state championship match. 

Greyson had broken feet while playing soccer, but he said that pain was nothing compared to the pain in his chest after the second Pfizer shot.

“My son feels like he’s having a heart attack 24/7,” his mother said. 

“He now has high blood pressure, severe chest pains, back pain, elevated kidney levels, hypothyroidism, inflamed lymph nodes in different areas of his body, and he can’t work or exercise.”

Greyson went from joining the ROTC program in college and running several miles almost daily with a heavy rucksack to having to sleep all the time and suddenly thinking he was dying. He can’t mow the grass or go to work. 

He walks around holding his chest.

His mother said he is in counseling to cope with the effects this injection has had on his life and the future it appears to have stripped from him. 

He doesn’t know if he will be able to return to school in August. And even if that works out, he probably won’t be able to rejoin ROTC.

But rather than explaining these symptoms to Americans and letting them decide for themselves, our government is hiding these facts. 

Now it is even mandating this shot for all federal employees (except the USPS) and some state employees.

Greyson is not alone.

“There are a lot of patients being injured,” one registered nurse shared. “

I’ve never seen anything like this.”

She is not talking about a little fever or chills after this shot.

She said post-injection patients are experiencing “urinating clots of blood, paresthesias (burning or prickling sensation), gastroparesis (stomach stops processing food), altered mental status, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrests, new onset seizures, new onset diabetes. I have patients who can’t walk anymore.”

But don’t expect to see any of these symptoms on the list of side effects for this jab. 

Instead, the VA just mandated its 400,000 or so employees to get the shot within eight weeks—or be fired.

The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) gave the green light to illegally force Americans against their will to take this experimental drug. 

Their legal memo admits multiple times that the EUA law and the FDA require the “option to accept or refuse.” Clear enough, but not to the DOJ.

The DOJ says that despite the clear EUA law, it only means you have the right to be told you can refuse, but you can’t actually refuse! 

That is like saying you have the “right to remain silent,” unless we tell you to speak! 

This is absurd.

We are being flooded with desperate pleas for help from a wide range of people, including nurses and doctors, who refuse to get these experimental shots. 

Their choices must be respected.

Today's devotional reading for: Saturday, Jul 31, 2021 Fishers of Men And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19 One of the greatest needs of the human soul is the need for adventure.  We long to be a part of something big, a grand epic, something beyond us. This is what Jesus offered Peter. Jesus said to Peter, “Do not fear. From now on you will catch men” (Luke 5:10). No more slimy, scaly, smelly fish for you, Peter.  You shall catch men—such men as you never even dreamt to speak to in your life you shall catch, for I will give your life a meaning and a significance and a purpose that you can’t even dream about.  Your life with Me will be an adventure, not a humdrum, because you have taken Me at My word.” The Lord offers us a part in this great adventure.  He has a purpose for our lives.  What He has for us is way beyond simply going to work and coming home.  He wants us to be kingdom-builders.  God will reveal Himself to all who seek Him diligently. Question to ponder: How can you open your heart to God’s big adventure? How do we find our purpose?
